Now that Calzaghes legacy is falling apart, will he feel the urge to come back?

    Sven Ottke devalues your argument.

Its not falling apart, when hopkins beat pavlik and jones destroyed sheika and lacy it made his legacy even more impressive.
The only legacy that is falling apart is roy jones.
Calzaghes legacy has been cemented as a legend, having some american fighter knocked the f%ck out in the 1st round doesn't make his legacy worse.

no, it's not. race gets brought up on this forum too often and too ignorantly. white people dislike calzaghe to. british people dislike calzaghe. white british people dislike calzaghe. lots of people like him to, no doubt of all races and nationalities. disliking a fighter has more to do with attitude than people think. calzaghe attitude, boasts and attempts to secure his own legacy on the backs of shot fighters is why people dislike him.

I think we should write a petition to Jose Sulaiman and Don King to do justice and nullify Calzaghe's legacy then throw him and his father into Volcano Etna where these devils came from.

It's funny, Calzaghe is easy to critisize because he was unconventional and at the time of his greatest exposure, his hands were gone and he had lost his power. But the fact is, if anyone, dawson, kessler, bernard, jones, tarver, froch, whoever you want to name, had beaten calzaghe, it would have been considered as a great great victory and for several of them, career defining. The trump card is that he beat (controversy aside, even for those saying hopkins won it was v v close) hopkins, who is an atg and went on to give a clinic to pavlik.

Calzaghe beat everyone, aside from no one that meant anything during his reign at SMW, aside from Sven Otke, who he would probably have beaten should they have fought. Then went up and beat bernard. He is not the best ever, but he has a damn good resume and was a damn good fighter.

And by Americans in general cuz he's not American. Same thing with the K bros. I remember all that Lacy hype before the Calzaghe fight. Wonder what US Lacy nuthuggers at the time would have said about Jeff Lacy had he beaten Calzaghe. They would have claimed he was an ATG or something.

If Calzaghe is content with just being on the cusp of a 100 P4P All-time great, I think he should sit at home and relax with his family. If he wants more, by all means, come back.

I'm not a Calzaghe fan, but I will agree. To remain undefeated in 46 fights is an accomplishment within it self.

  14. No I dont think so, Calzaghe doesnt give a **** about his legacy. He doesnt even respect boxing as a sport. He knows himself that his win over Jones doesnt mean ****, cause he stated Jones was shot in his book. He had 2 good wins over Lacey and Kessler and then cashed in in America. A nice, smartly handled career.

No. Calzaghe was never known for guts of any kind. By the way, what exactly is his "legacy" anyway?
