Now that Conor "The Con Artist" McGregor has retired will that increase boxing PPVs?

UFC just lost its biggest star. Two biggest starts in the space of half a year actually if you count the Ronda loss too.

There's no big PPV draw left in the UFC, will that lead to more people following boxing?

Canelo is by far the biggest PPV draw in combat sports now. If the fight with Pacman is made it could be huge.

No he wasn't. His coach wrote "it was fun while it lasted" and Ariel Helwani (the most legit MMA journalist with the best inside info) confirmed it's serious.

It would be very bad taste trolling after that recent MMA fighter's death in Dublin which is speculated to be one of the reasons for McGregor's retirement.

My theory is that he ****ed hot and he knows it. USADA has caught many MMA fighters recently.

Some people say it's a stunt to get more money for UFC 200 but I really doubt he would pull that sort of BS in public with Dana and Lorenzo.

"McGregor fought Diaz at 170 pounds, 25 more than his usual featherweight limit, at UFC 196.

Up to that point he had been unbeaten since signing to UFC in 2013, with career earnings in excess of $2.8m (£1.94m)."

    According to the BBC

I really doubt the UFC/Conor would be pulling stunts like this one to sell UFC 200.

It seems totally realistic to me that he retired. He was most certainly roided to the gills and USADA caught a lot of fighters recently, it's no joke.

Last year (I think it was november or december) Cro Cop "retired" and one day later it was announced that he was tested positive for something. I wouldn't be surprised if the news that Conor got caught break out any day now.

Also, if it's not for PEDs then Conor probably just realized that he hit his ceiling and it's only going to get worse for him from now on. Let's not forget that he just witnessed a cold blooded murder in an MMA octagon and he's a guy who wanted to retire from MMA once already. Now that he made millions does he want to risk his health against the superior fighter Nate Diaz?

2.8m seems a bit low considering Martin made more than that to go to e gland and have AJ batter him for a paper belt

It's the UFC. They don't have to pay anyone much, their fighters are enslaved to the UFC and have nowhere to go.

I wonder how much money he made in endorsements and the like. I was also under the impression he was making much more money than that in actual purses. Dana really ****s his fighters over if the numbers the BBC are throwing around are true.

ya i mean... i think they cut their "stars" other checks on the side...that they dont really disclose ......not sure exactly ....and endorsements im sure mcgregor made a little coin there too

but i mean even....say he made 5-6 mil.....with taxes, laywers and a financial planner.....buying a crib...i mean....hes going to obviously live in L.A. and try to make it there.....that money aint gonna go that far
