So, Cotto ducked PBF??? Nooooooooo!!!!!! Not to mention the fact that Cotto destroyed Mali, Torres, and Quintana when they had less than 25 fights... So its ok for Cotto to fight young green fighters, but not PBF at the time???
it just proves that he wants the fight. like he said how can you call your self the best pound for pound you are not willing to fight the best
You know I wonder what excuse everyone will have when Floyd beats Cotto? When he wanted to fight Hatton at 140 and the fight did not come off people said that he ducked Hatton. When he beat Hatton then people say "oh well he was cherry picking and he was too small for 147". Before he fought Oscar everybody and their momma was saying Oscar is too big for him and he was gonna get knocked out. The fight comes and go and now Oscar is WAY past his prime so it means nothing. When he fights Cotto and beat him just like the rest then I really can't wait and see what excuses you all come up with then.
They will say that Cotto didn't understand the referee when he said 'fight' allowing PBF to unleash a 45 punch combo w/in 3 seconds knocking cotto out. OR the ring was too big or gloves to heavy or poisoned water... People get creative these days.
:rofl :rofl :rofl I know I can't wait for it to happen so I can see how good they can spin it. Poisoned water had me rolling.
He was calling De la Hoya for years, and then he won the fight and call him out again instead of hoya calling him up.
I'm just using Floyd's own comments to momma Mayweather: "How can he beat me? He's a midget". I was surprised he took the Hatton fight and if he fights and beats Cotto then we fans can say that maybe we helped a bit to push him toward his potential. As of now I see little glimmers of Brittany Spear like behavior in him. You know' domestic battery, throwing his money around, crying in public, problems with his dad, Uncle roger beating up his mother in law, etc...
The major difference is that PBF is still on top of the game. PBF is probably the biggest star in boxing today, based on his last 2 fights, crossover ability to Dancing w/ stars and now WWE. Cotto has just now learned enough english to say 'mayweather...duck.... me...i...want... big...name.. Arum... boss...' Or something to that extent.
True, true :yep I've seen these threads about what pbf needs to do to seal his legacy. Quite a few people are coming up with Pavlik now. :roflI bet they're not as confident about Cotto now, so now they're lining up another guy once PBF picks Cotto off. And PBF will do it too. He said Cotto is all about pressure and that is not the way to beat him. He's confident.
What did you want him to say? That's his way of calling him out. It was effective enough. And it was where Floyd could see it, not some little paper in Puerto Rico or surrounded by a bunch of journalists who are simpering 'You really think you can beat him don't you?' Please.
I like how Bob Arum tried to spin why they've never offered him a fight. Arum's reason is he "doubts" Floyd is interested, but that never stopped him from offering a fight with Margo to Floyd.
He didn't call out Hoya before he moved to lightweight and beat Castillo twice. So you beat Victoriano Sosa at 135 lbs in Fresno, California, and you want to move to 147 lbs to beat someone who was campaigning at 154 because your father is with him? And Mayweather also called for Gatti, Mosley, Zab in between... Still called Hoya after having beaten him and only Larry Merchant told him that there was no point in doing it again... It's interesting that Mayweather changed the subject on Cotto by mentioning Shane when he clearly ducked Shane to fight Hatton...
