I mean lets be honest...For 11 of those rounds against Tito..De la Hoya was givin Trinidad a straight up boxing lesson..Why oscar decided to coast and run in the 12th is betond me..But it was a huge mistake..And his first defeat, and he had the fight in the bag..

Maybe Pryor would take him into the late rounds and get a decision. Pryor might well be too much for him. It's hard to tell. I'd loved to have seen the De La Hoya who fought Chavez at 140lbs in against a prime Pryor.

He didn't hurt him whatsoever. It was a flash knockdown that shocked oscar. Oscar's underestimated his power and really had to rethink his gameplan. Not to mention he got overzealous knocking ike down right before that thinking ike was also hurt, which he wasn't. Both were flash kdowns off solid punches, but both men were up and absolutely not wobbly or lost any of their senses.

it was truly 11th and 12th round oscar coasted. People like to say 9-12 but Oscar was still owning Tito until 11th round.

At 140 I would make Niccolino Locche a slight favorite. I think Barney Ross and Canzoneri could give him everything he could handle and would give Carlos Ortiz even odds, assuming he could take Oscars punch.

De La Hoya was more hurt than Quartey after both knockdowns during the 6th round. While De La Hoya wasn't staggering all around the ring after he was knocked down, he was holding on a bit.

He wasn't hurt , he was shook mentally. His legs were completely there. The knockdowns were pretty much identical except Ike came back firing and Oscar shut down for a couple rounds and got gunshy. I believe it was more him taking that punch with his feet together (opposed to in front of each other) and poor balance, same with Ike. Both landed on their ass and were up without any difficulty.

As LittleRed stated- Canzoneri and Ross are good picks, as well as Pryor when it comes to possibly beating Oscar. I wouldn't bet on these guys, and they probably get beat, but they must be considered legit threats.

My first thought was Napoles though. I wouldn't bet against him in that fight.

Benitez is another I'd bet on beating Oscar at 140.

Duran too. He didn't spend any time there officially, but its a safe bet for me.

Ike Williams and Henry Armstrong are two more that I would favor over Oscar at that weight.

    Is that enough names?
