Gay ass ****** *****. Watch Bellator, Strikeforce, KOTC, XFC, and WEC if you want your fix of quality MMA without having to waste your money on UFC. Or whatever, go cry to mama because some fat overrated heavyweight lost.
While I agree with you that there are many sources for MMA if you a true MMA fan, but you are a true idiot if you think Fedor is overrated.
Only by those who claim he is/was the #1 pound for pound fighter with a bullet and wouldn't even entertain arguments for other candidates such as GSP, Penn, or Silva. Those people are the idiots, and they do overrate Fedor, great as he is/was.
P4P is a stupid ****ing debate. It's all makebeleive anyway, **** it!! All the fighters in your list would be beat by Fedor . It is just common sense.
The man has proven himself for a decade. He has done what nobody has ever done before in a very impressive fashion. Even among top fighters themselves claimed Fedor is p4p #1. Penn himself concede that title readily if you ask him who should be p4p #1, he said Fedor has done things he couldn't have, so even a p4p candidate of yours placed the title on Fedor himself. Who is the most recognized p4p fighter not among fans but also among top fighters?
Yep, P4P is dumb. When i hear people argueing about it, it reminds me of childish "my dad could beat up your dad" or "superman would own the hulk" kinda talk. P4P is about taking something that is not even humanly possible and argueing about it. "If Pacman was 6'5 245lbs he would be the heavyweight champion".atsch
It doesn't matter. I never bought Fedor as the #1 best fighter in the world relative to weight (which is what p4p means - many people throw the term around without realizing that) - but I'm at least willing to hear people out respectfully as they state their case. Most of his shitty fangirls though, aren't even willing to extend that courtesy. It's a black and white issue for them - you can't even suggest that it might be Penn, or St. Pierre, or Silva. It's blasphemy. That kind of attitude is why I'm glad Fedor tapped out, and why he bears the burden of being "overrated".
Dude, it ain't just his fans admitting he is the best p4p. It is the top fighters themselves who respected him as such. You can deem him as you wish, p4p can't really be proven so I won't argue further as if it is a fact. But if you followed the sport for at least a decade, then you would know why he got the respect he did.
Your entitled to your opinions but how can a man who dominated for over 10 years be overrated? Was Ali overrated? He lost 5 times. Was Tyson? Was Lewis? No other fighter in MMA history has accomplished what Fedor has. If Fedor is overrated, so is everyone else in mma because nobody has come close to his run of dominance.
What is your point???????? You said Fedor was overrarted. Those were your words. I see where you said you respect him, but you said he was overrated. What was your meaning? When you said "bears the burden of being overrated". I assumed you were speaking of yourself. Or do you mean general dumbass fans?
Apparently I do have to explain this as though to a kindergarten, since neither you or Tuno seems to actually know what the word "overrated" means. It doesn't mean "not good". It doesn't mean "Not great". Hell, it doesn't even mean "Not arguably the #1" at anything. It means...well, over-rated. It means rated higher than deserved. Now, someone can be the best at something and still be overrated. You can say "Ali is the best HW of all time" and you're not overrating him. You're stating a popular opinion that can be argued very successfully, and is within reason. If you say "Ali would have beaten twelve ninjas and a tank with his eyes closed", you're overrating him. Or even if you say "Ali is the best HW of all time and in his prime is a million times better than any other HW in history", you're overrating him. Neither of those statements are reasonable. You're over-rating once you get into that territory. So simply saying "I think Fedor is the best" isn't overrating him. It's stating your opinion. A lot of his fans go further than that, though. They say things like "Not only is Fedor the best, but he's head and shoulders above everybody else and nobody is even close to as good as he is, and it's stupid to even try and make an argument for anybody else". That's overrating him. People do this. Therefore he's overrated. He's rated higher than he deserves to be, by being put up on an unreasonable pedestal. Let's review. "I think Fedor is the best" - not overrating. "Not only is Fedor the best, but he's head and shoulders above everybody else and nobody is even close to as good as he is, and it's stupid to even try and make an argument for anybody else" - overrating. The fact that some people hold the latter position means that he is, in fact, overrated (by some). Class dismissed.
