Now that Floyd has undoubtedly separated himself from the pack, what should he do?

It will be laughable if Floyd tries snatching the MW lineal title from Cotto. He's apparently too small to fight at 154 (where he is champion) but can fight for the 160 crown now?

Retire, and the sooner the better.

Only probably is Marciano doesn't really have a record. JCC was 87-0 before he lost his first fight. And Lopez retired at 51-0-1 having never lost a fight.

I think a farewell fight against a Danny Garcia would be a good way to go out. A respectable champion caliber fighter who has fought at 144 his last 2 fights, so he has technically been fighting as a welterweight the last year.

On top of that, I have seen Swift in person 2 times, he is a solid welterweight. I would estimate his walk around weight @155/160

This is of course if Danny doesn't rematch Peterson.

How does that JCC argument make sense? If he didn't retire undefeated then it's irrelevant. Shush.

Garcia would be an EXTREMELY easy and boring fight for Floyd, and Cotto is not long for the MW division. Cotto will be long gone back to 154 or retired by next May.

He could retire, but what would be epic is if he takes on a Cotto or a Pac and surprises the hell out of them and everyone else by attacking hard and retiring with a stoppage.

He looked sharp as ever but still got his azz kicked by one arm Manny. Even his daddy straight told him you fighting like a scared coward...you got a one arm man and you running like a B.

He could do whatever he wants at this point.

Dangerous fights for him to take would probably be Thurman or GGG.

Mid tier level difficulty would be guys like Khan or Lara or maybe Charlo.

Pretty much gimme wins- Marquez, Cotto, Alvarez, Garcia.

Most sensible move for him is to fight Cotto (if he's able to beat Geale.) It should be a fairly easy rematch to make, although it might require step aside money to Canelo to get it done.

Cotto still has a big name in boxing so the fight should be easy to sell, and him being the lineal champion at MW makes it a no brainer.

Huh, MVC? We have no reason to believe Floyd OR Danny can make 140 remotely comfortably any more.

I would like Floyd to have two more meaningful fights and retire at 50-0 if possible. Then let the historians decide just where he ranks on the atg list in ten years from now. He has sublime skills that even as knowledgeable boxing fans, we cannot fully comprehend. And to rule the welterweight division at his age is something that he is simply not given sufficient credit for.
