Now that he's an 8-weight champ, is it time to start thinking of Pac as a top 20 ATG?

Top 20 IMO. I really enjoyed his performance last night. Say what I want, he took on a bigger, tougher guy an destroys him for what it's worth.

If the mayweather fight first take place, the winner of Williams-Martinez would be a fantastic fight. Would any of you make Pac the underdog after his recent performances?

    Beat Mayweather, then beat Martinez/Williams.

    Where would that put him??

If not top 2 then nothing he can do will be enough for some people

For some reasons, those oldies are always treated greatly like they were some untouchables had they fought in this era.

Btw, I think Pac should be treated as a JWW as that is his optimum weight.

I don't have a list but i think top 20 is very reasonable, his weight jumping achievements are up there with almost any fighter ever. If he gets mayweather i think a reasonable case for top 10 would begin to exist

    Martinez/Williams winner.

That would solidify him in the 10-20 branch for me. He's in that 15-25 grouping now.

If he beat Mayweather I put him in the Pep-Duran-Ali class somewhere in my top 10. If he beats Mayweather AND the Martinez I put him above or next to Ezzard Charles having him at a lock in the top 6. If he beats Williams it might mean a bit less than beating Martinez as Pac doesn't have as many slick boxer type scalps on his resume.

i don't know how one wouldn't rank him in the top 5. he has arguably accomplished more than any fighter in history and has utterly dominated PLENTY of extremely tough competition. There is absolutely a valid argument that he should be right there with robinson and ali in the top 3. who else deserves a 3 spot more than him?

I don't really care about rankings, we're witnessing a modern day ali tbh. I love that I'm around to be able to witness history being made

Absolutely no less than Top 15. Top 5 for me. For some people he will never be good enough and they will always rank less deserving fighters higher based on their name or historic value. when the dust settles, i think the history book will rank him like ive got him in the top 5.

I already had him top 15 after Cotto. Clottey/Margo does little as single names but they do add to the overall resume. I mean those are solid former champions, they cant simply be disregarded from someone's resume. A collection of these type of opponents help build up overall legacy ranking. Although at his point its all trivial stuff, IMO he will be recognised to rank alongside your Durans, SRL, Ali, SRR, Armstrong in the long run, that's all that matters.

And in 10 years time, our nostalgia will kick in and when some young fans say so and so can compete with Pac, we will laugh our heads off.

many who could beat pac at his best weight

    but in terms of achievements

pac is deifnately top 20 maybe 15

People really overrate this Welterweight era. As phenomenal as Pac is he even seems surprised by his success against bigger guys. In what time you could imagine a guy going life and death with a LW and then moving up to pick apart much much bigger guys. Conveys greatness, but also says part of another thing.

Top 10 p4p but all time ?? Not so fast ..Those so called 8 weight champ is a little fluff considering all the catch weights ..I mean why was this fight even for a title at 154?? Last I checked Cheato wasn't a champ at the time and when did Manny become a mando ? Popularity can really mess up the history books !
