Now that I think about it, Cotto gets hit way too easily to compete with Mayweather

You can't expect to beat Mayweather when you get hit as many times as Cotto does. Mayweather's accuracy would absolutely punish the guy.

    Agreed.

However, I'd still like to see the fight. Just to twist the knife a lil more on the all the haters.

Yep thats what I think. Zab Judah managed to lay some dangerous shots on him early on before Judahs oh so predictable collapse.

People act like Cotto is some HUGE welterweight, he is not. Actually, Cotto is roughly the same size as Hatton with a similar reach. I'd argue that Hatton is faster than Cotto, but Cotto has better boxing ability. (Not that he could afford to box Floyd anyways)

Cotto and Hatton both started their careers at 140. Cotto would have a 5" reach disadvantage to Floyd. Cotto also, has NEVER won his title by defeating a reigning champion. Cotto has defended his title before, but he's always earned a vacant title.

Cotto runs into a wall if he fights Mayweather in my opinion and catches too many clean shots. Mayweather is the best defensive fighter I've ever seen... that doesn't make it easier on Cotto also.

Cotto runs into a laundry list of problems if he fights Mayweather, and honestly, hearing every name in the book being thrown at Mayweather is getting boring.

    Agree

Zab pushed him for awhile is right, Mosley pushed him too...

I think its a good fight for PBF but not one hes HAS to take..

He can't take a good punch either but if they want this fight to happen then they can set it up, I can see the result already.

You guys will be so shocked by how close the fight will be (Cotto vs PBF) I've been a huge fan of both men and this would be an incredible fight. I love how fans automatically assume.....this is boxing the fights are determined in the ring and not by fans making empty predictions.

Nah, I ain't no witch!!
Just my prediction since PBF has been in the ring twice in a row vs sluggers that put insane pressure. You think Cotto's pressure would be better than DLH?, the same DLH that was double the size of PBF, with Reyes gloves(Both DLH and PBF, to make sure if PBF lands he's injured) in a small ring against a smaller PBF fighting his first fight at Light Middleweight?
DLH had all the advantages, made it close but didn't get the nod, you think Cotto will?, and do you think Cotto(despite DLH's age) has more skills than DLH?, he has better stamina at this point but DLH was fighting REAL good for the first 6 rounds and he couldn't come even close to stopping Floyd, Cotto will?

Mayweather is too slick for cotto, he can fight better than cotto on the outside and just aswell on the inside, and hes quicker. He has the better chin and defence aswell. Cotto has more power, but thats about it.
