Meaningless fight, morales is way past his best and marquez would get no credit for the win. Not interested.

No. It does not add anything to their legacy and they probably do not need the money.

It would be just a sadistic entertainment display of two elder statesmen of our sports.

    Very undignified.

I hear ya but Eric always comes to fight.

Minus Pacquiao 3 he always does-He was too weight drained in that fight though.

Garcia is going to decisively beat Morales next month anyway. I hope that finally rids people of the illusion that Morales would be competitive with Marquez at this point in time.

Before JMM-Pac 3 I would have said sure let it happen but JMM is way better of the two today despite being older, JMM beat pac yet again and looked really good last time. JMM-Morales would have been good 7 years ago but not now.

Aside from Manny, This is probably the biggest fight for JMM, from a monetary standpoint. It would do good business if he were to fight Morales.

This matchup was going to be made before Morales eventually fought Maidana.
It was Marquez who refused to sign to fight Morales, citing that since Morales had refused to fight him when it mattered, he was now in the drivers seat and any fight between them would be on his terms, meaning he wanted significantly more of the Lions share of the purse.
The matchup never materialize because of it.
Its a good thing it did'nt too, Marquez would have gotten zero credit for a victory.

I've been one of the few around here since before the Maidana fight to opiniate that the fight would be a good competitive fight for the first half of it, and then Marquez' superior conditioning and adjustment skills would take over the 2nd half leading to him dominating.

At least now Morales has somewhat proven himself that he can still compete if not at an elite, at least still at at a high level.

    I'd welcome the matchup.
It would complete the round table circle of the only matchup not having been made between the mini-fab four.

One or two of you in this thread see it as a boring fight?:nut:patsch

You must have not watched many of these two's fights.

Both fight for the public. They are crowd pleasers.

My 30+ years of being a hardcore fan say's the matchup would be an entertaining war type of a fight. I think better than Marquez' fight vs MAB.
MAB circled and jabbed vs Marquez.
I think Morales' heart weighs much more and he'll give more than just trying to survive and feel to just be competitive.

Imo Morales gets stopped because his heart will see him through no other way, but the end result would be a great scrap between two Mexican giants showing up to please their crowd.

There's no if's, and's, or but's about it imo, boxing wins with this matchup finally taking place.

or Top Rank could (but will not) do a JCC Jr./Andy Lee and JMM/Morales or JMM/Rios doubleheader PPV in Texas Stadium.

I want this fight to happen. This is the missing piece to complete the jigzaw puzzle in the great foursome fighters of this generation (Pacquiao, Marquez, Morales and Barrera).
