Now that Pacquiao has refused a Marquez rematch, whom should JMM fight next?

retire, after last nights result.he`s always been in the shadow of Barrera n Morales if he won last night he could of got 1 over on the pair of them but now he should just call it a day. his mistake was turnin down a $750,000 fight for a $30,000 fight and losing.
great warrior but should call it a day now:p

Marquez has a lot of options. I wouldn't be surprised to see his next match against Barios, if he beats Juarez. Valero would be a good choice. He might be on par with Guzman and Soto as far as marketability and payday, but I think Marquez outboxes Valero all day long. While Guzman and Soto are very tough fights. A rematch with Chris John at 130 is a nice fight.

I wouldn't mind to see him go to 135 and try to keep the pressure up for a third Pacquaio fight. Its not going to be his best weight but its the best way to try to get another Pacquaio bout. He beats either Casamayor or Katsidis, he could aim for the winner of that. Juan Diaz and Campbell are much tougher fights but Marquez could win either of those. Beating some of the best at lightweight, while Pacquaio is campaigning there, is a good way to keep the public and media interested in seeing this turn into a trilogy. But if Pac moves to 140 to face Hatton than you could probably kiss a third fight goodbye permanently.

Hard to tell what Marquez does next but he has a lot of good options at either 130 or 135.

I don't think he'd have any other choice but retirement after fighting Soto and Valero.

Yea, but didn't he get 1.5 Mil for last night's fight? if that's the case then I don't really see that as a mistake now that it's paid off.

he has plenty of options ... i thought this thread was about pacquiao ...

but JMM can fight anyone in the division and possibly beat all ... I wouldn't advise that he fight Valero though ...

I don't think he should go for a title after losing, even if he could win one. I don't think any fighter should just right back in and gun for another title after losing. He should take a fight with Diaz to see what he still has in the tank then he could go for a title assuming he wins.

I like him to face Guzman.

Also, Pac should grant Guzman a shot.
