Now that RJJ is out, who do you think is the likely next opponent for Hopkins?

The winner of Calzaghe-Kessler or Jones-Tito.

Hopkins' next fight will probably be next May/June, so the timing is good.

I don't know if Hopkins is going to give RJJ the luxury of fighting him after RJJ shunned Hopkins back in the days. And i have no doubt Jones is going to destroy Trinidad who has no right fighting let alone fighting at 170 lbs.

The winner of Calzaghe-Kessler sounds good.

Anyone think winner of Taylor-Pavlik? I say no because Hopkins doesn't want to be in their with an active, young fighter who will come forward.

Jones didn't "shun" him! Hopkins was making unreasonable demands. Jones was P4P and a huge star, he was literally recognized by all as the "superman" of boxing. Hopkins was an unknown middleweight champ who was demanding a 50/50 split with the P4P best, HBOs golden boy and the guy who had already beat him. :patsch

Actually, RJJ was supposed to fight the winner of Trinidad-Hopkins. And Hopkins won. And Hopkins was even willing to go 60-40. RJJ didn't want anything to do with it. The fact is, RJJ didn't want to make it happen. Hopkins did and even conceited a 60/40.

Oh my bad. I thought that is what had stopped it. I thought Jones wanted the 60/40 and Hopkins wouldn't do it. "60/40 I whoop dat ass! 60/40 I whoop dat ass!"

Both Jones and Hopkins are guilty in making demands that kept a lot of potentianly good fights from happening , including a bout with each other.
There IS a primma donna complex going on with a lot of todays most succesful fighters.

You don't know this. Hopkins camp says this and Jones camp denies this and you take Hopkins word for it because it supports your position apparently. The Jones camp says Hopkins wouldn't take 60-40 at all privately or publicly. Since no one was at the talks, we have no idea who is lying about that.

We do know that publicly, Hopkins turned down 60-40 on national TV.

Hopkins has actually looked fresher and younger in his last two fights then his previous. I'd also watch what I say about father time, Calzaghe might be getting pressed by him as well.

This is a lie, check espn boxing page to back up my story. Jones wanted to fight Tito, he wound up fighting B-Hop. He told Tito he would lose to B-Hop, but he decided to fight B-Hop anyway. That's why the Tito vs RJ never happened. Also B-Hop never agree to 60/40, he wanted 50/50

Face it. Hopkins ducked Jones. He finally got the unified title, the big win against Tito and felt his career was about to take off in a huge way financially. He probably just didn't want to risk that in fight Jones, a fight he had little chance of winning at that time and he knew it.

I think you are right about the 60/40 thing as in that famous interview between the two, Jones said, "60/40 i'll whoop dat ass, 60/40 i'll whoop dat ass." But still, Jones could've made it happen. But he didn't want it.

And i guess the fact that Jones told Trinidad he would lose to Hopkins shows how much Jones respected Hopkins. I mean no one saw Hopkins beating Trinidad at that point in time. And i guess that just enforced Jones not to take on Hopkins. And although Hopkins did lose to Jones when they fought, it was somewhat competitive in the earlier rounds and Hopkins did come to fight.
