Being undefeated or for example going on a long winning streak like Wladimir Klitschko did can add extra pressure to a fighter in my opinion. I also think it can cause an element of complacency and a lack of urgency in a fighter's psyche, so my question is this; do you guys think Tyson Fury will come back stronger following his first ever loss in the professional ranks?

No, he doesn't have the grit or mental resiliency of Joshua. The loss will be eating him up inside, destabilising the whole fragile framework of delusion he's built up over the years like a powerful acid. We've already seen some of the effects in viral form and I expect to see or hear of many more in the months to come. He can feign trying to make people believe he's accepted the loss, but the reality is that he still can't come to grips with it, or adopt the humbleness of mind to really address the failings that led to his defeat (though a lot of that was down to Usyk and thus out of his hands to change).

This is the end for him. He built himself up on a house of cards and once that comes tumbling down it's impossible to build it up again.

How can you become a better fighter at 36 years old with prior substance abuse and wear and tear in the ring ?

Fury had his best performance in years vs Usyk and was well prepared, it's just Usyk dug deep after a rough spell in middle rounds then turned it around by breaking Fury's nose and having the dominant 9th round.

Fury can't become a better fighter he can try and alter tactics by maybe being more aggressive, but the issue with that is that Usyk knows he can hurt Fury now. So if Fury does try to be aggressive and target Usyk's body hes more likely to walk onto a counter punch, and this time Fury won't get a lucky break from the referee.

I think Fury's only chance is to finish Usyk early because he hasn't got the conditioning to last with Usyk in the 2nd half of the fight.

That's the big question isn't it. It's often a quality that separates the very good from the great, that ability to come back from adversity, to learn, adapt and refocus to unlock another level that wasn't there before.

We can speculate all we like but in the end we won't know until we see it in the ring.

I saw enough outside the bar to know Fury won't be better. In my mind the real question is will age finally catch Usyk completely?

He probably only has 2-3 more fights period. He's gonna lose his next fight with almost assured certainty. And depending on who he fights he may lose that one as well. He'll close out 2024 with 2 losses............

No, he's at least 4 years past his best but he's still a good heavyweight who could improve on his performance last month.

The only real question. How much worse/declined Usyk will be comes December. If the fight happens at all. :D

It'll probably be Joshua, and he'll get brutally KOed in that one. Though I think he gets stopped by Usyk as well.

Weirdly I also think we'll see some of his best performances in both fights, which will serve to generate a lot of what ifs for years.

How did you know this ?

He was always winning, when people were giving him 0 chance, like against Wlad, Wilders first fight.

IF he can be in shape, he can do a lot more, than AJ fanboys think.

Right now, Usyk is acting in a movie, in Canada. So Let's see how things will go from here.

He might pull it out the bag for the Usyk fight and win. But win or lose, I think after the rematch he's done. Most boxers are at that age anyway, it's too late for improvement.

He's old. He's past it. If he somehow beats Usyk in a rematch (unlikely) it will be because Usyk is old and past it too.
    Fury is not getting better.

Both Fury & Usyk are old and past it

but they are still levels ahead of everyone else

Fury winning the rematch 7 months later = not a praise worthy victory to all the haters who do silly mental gymnastics. If Usyk lost to Fury people still would have said Usyk was over the hill. Always excuses.

Deep down everyone and their dogs knows Fury didn't execute his best fight and it scares them. deep to the bone.
