And you can start adding those that he did not fight as sure wins.

Is there any fan of any fighter that does that? Only the *****s.

I think Mayweather would've beaten Cotto clearly.

Floyd apparently wanted the fight at 140 in 2005 and Arum didn't.

When the fight wouldve been best, in 2008, there was no reports of any serious negotiations between the two camps. For that they both get blame, but look at what each fighter did instead. Cotto fought Margarito, Clottey, and Pacquiao in 2008-09. Actually, he fought those 3 within a 16 month period.

    Floyd fought Marquez.

Cotto has never been and will never be in Mayweathers league. Real boxing fans already knew this.

There's no doubt in my mind that Mayweather retired to duck Cotto and Margarito after the Hatton fight. He was trapped in the corner...fight Cotto or Margarito .

Agreed. I would favor Mayweather but pre Margarito Cotto would have SOME success

I don't buy these arguments that a "pre" this and a "post" that some guys would have more success than others.

    1. Cotto is a profesional

    2. The likelihood of someone going undefeated for their entire career, especially if they fight 2 to 3 years in a 12 to 16 month period, is rare. (the only way Mayweather is slipping by is because he fights sporadically- he takes long lay-offs and when he does come back, he takes 1 fight for every 8 to 12 months)

    3. Pac-man came back after his draw to Marquez and his loss to Morales

    4. Every fighter gets beat at some point in their career- whether it was in the gym, or whether a guy got robbed like how Hearns did in the second fight against Sugar Ray.

So this pre and post **** needs to stop.

would have been a good fight had it happened. cotto would have a leigt shot but its hard to see him beating mayweather, like pac, mayweather is a league above cotto, and it would have been one of few fights for mayweather, where he had enough power to stop his opponent at 147.
