Pavlik was P4P #6-7. Hopkins was P4P #10 or so.

Imo. Hopkins is now P4P around #4.

    Discuss.

With that impressively dominant win over a fellow p4per, a solid number 4.

No he wasn't. If Pavlik proved anything, he proved that.

Yes he was. Other than JMM, Calzaghe, and Pacquiao there was not a fighter in the game that was a clear cut over the past 3 years than Pavlik.

Considering he only lost to Calzaghe by about 1-3 points and he dominated Pavlik. I would have him at 4-5. Definately ahead of Margarito, Cotto, Calderon, Mijares, and Rafa Marquez. Behind Pacquiao, JMM, Calzaghe, and it is close with Izzy.

It's clear that he has been flattered by his results. Miranda is ludicrously overrated, for reasons that have always escaped. Taylor was rated solely on his wins over Hopkins, which were a style thing, as were Pavlik's wins over Taylor.

Last night was always going to show Pavlik's true level. I did not see a top ten P4P fighter in him.

With the way elite fighters have been performing lately, and with the retirement of Mayweather. He was top 10 based on that. I still have him ahead of overrated Margarito.

I wouldn't argue with him being ahead of Margarito. Somewhere between 18 and 23 maybe.

Why was this fight and that fight a "style thing" and the fight that you point to was "pavlik's true level'?

Hopkins said that he won because 'Styles make fights'. So now we have your word against Bernard's. Was this Pavlik's 'true level' As you say, or was it a stlyes thing (as Bernard says) and the Taylor, Miranda etc. fights Pavlik's true level?

You are Bernard - who do we belive?:huh

He's no lower than #5 now, Pavlik drops way out of the top 10.
