Maybe the sparring talk was very very true. At first when the fight was made Tony was saying that it didnt even happen, and later it was Oh Paul was just another sparring partner. Arum worked hard to stop this fight, he badly wanted to save Tony for Cotto, so he could say OH look how this kid is fighting a guy that no one eles wanted to fight. Now lets see if Arum sacks up and gets Cotto a fight with Williams.

I know I cannot believe that he was saying that paul did not win the fight. Man he got schooled tonight.

He maybe still going to put together that fight with Cotto. Lets see if Cotto gets bashed if he takes the fight, the way that Floyd got bashed for fighting Judah.

I dont think he got schooled, simply as this, paul williams won the early rounds, and from 7 margo started punishing him, margo`s mistake was stop looking for the ko at 12

Williams can't put down Margarito, he doesn't have the power, and he proved that yesterday.

I think this was the critical mistake made by Margarito and his team.

They essentially treated Williams like they did Cintron. I believe they truly showed their limits last night.

They worked on being 100% defensive early on, and true he did make Williams miss a ton of punches, but he gave up way too much ground. Kinda like Hopkins did to the busier Taylor.

I'm still not convinced that Margarito can't beat Williams. Williams just doesn't hit as hard as Cintron so there is really no point in being as defensive as Margarito was last night. He wasted alot of time there.

yup, you could see margo was reluctant in the earlier rds but some of that was due to williams speed. by losing so many earlier rds, he put himself in a position to need a ko or be perfect in the second half of the fight and he couldnt. and margo has never been a ko artist. williams even won the last rd. clottey won several earlier rds as well but margo pressure plus the hand injury enable him to win the fight.
