Now that were will be no slappy joe fight what is the best road for Pavlik to take too become a bigger star? My take ,first there are big money fights that get a lot of press and hype
    # 1 John Duddy on the east coast
    # 2 Ricardo Mayorga in the midwest
    # 3 Sergio Mora on west coast
This will make Pavlik big in USA

In between those hype fights I think Pavlik should go too Germany to fight
    #1 Arthur Abraham
    #2 Felix Sturm
That will make Pavlik big in Europe setting up a fight with Calzaghe:good
What do guys think Pavlik should do next?

I think he should fight the winner of Miranda/Abraham. I actually really hope he doesn't fight Duddy; I enjoy boxing not murder :good

The fight with Slappy Joe can still take place in 2009.

I'd still actually rather see Pavlik-Abraham though.

You are clean off your ****ing head. Calzaghe is knocking on and is retiring soon, but you think KP is gonna have 5 fights to set up a fight with him. Calzaghe will be long gone by then.

I hope he fights Abraham next too but I think the IBF is going force Abraham to fight Lorenzo if Arthur gets past Miranda:-(

The fight can take place in the spring of 2009, after Pavlik gets past Rubio and maybe another fighter, and after Joe fights Roy.

Short term he will only fight the winner if it is AA. Pantera is still down the road. A win puts him back on track and he will need a few more wins over quality opponents to set up a rematch.

Vince is in a race with FatJoe to see who can start the most Pavlik threads.

I would think a fight with Ricardo Mayorga would be the most realistic for Pavlik's next choice out of the others. John Duddy has a fight scheduled soon, whom I doubt will get a shot at Pavlik until he scores an impressive win against a highly ranked middleweight. Sergio Mora fights at 154, and is just not the right stuff (stylistic nightmares, Mora too strong - haha). Abraham has a fight with Miranda, and if he comes out of that fight will most likely not meet Kelly until later this year. Felix Sturm is in the witness protection program so that won't come off as a possible fight. Pavlik wants to fight soon so I'd say Mayorga is the only option that I see would make for a fight soon.

Again, if Pantera wins he gets some bigger names and sets up a rematch sooner, but it will not be after this fight. He won't come down to 160 and Kelly won't go to 168 for Pantera. He will go to 168 sooner rather than later, but not now, not for Pantera on the basis of this fight.

I don't understand. Why would Pavlik want to give Miranda a rematch? Beside it being a very entertaining fight, Pavlik dominated and would likely do the same if they fought again. I don't think Kelly has any reason to move up to 168 right now, not only because he can dominate 160 but there are some quality fighters at 168 (a good amount of them) that I don't think Kelly can beat.
