I know Edison wants the rematch badly. He will want it even more if/when he beats AA. But I don't know why people keep saying Kelly should fight the winner of this fight next. IF AA, a case can be made. For Miranda, it just sets up a future bout.

Rubio isn't the way to go, that's for sure. Lorenzo would be a better choice than another Lockett-level (okay Rubio is a little better) fighter like that.
If he isn't fighting a guy at his level, then he should be fighting guys with loyal followings and/or national exposure. Both Duddy and Mora are "Taylor-made" for Kelly. He'd take both out in dramatic fashion and build up a lot of hype in and out of boxing circles. Of course, THE FIGHT is with Arthur Abraham. I am still pissed that the greatest casualty to the fight with John Duddy was having Arthur Abraham on the undercard. Felix Sturm would be worthwhile, but a fight to be considered later (provided Sturm doesn't lose that belt to Griffin or someone else soon, which is very likely).

I'm looking for Mundine to be given a shot at that belt in the near future in return for vacating his belt as quickly as he did for Kessler. I think there was a deal of some sort.

Best road for Pavlik is to clean up 160 and move up.

I don't think a Lorenzo/Pavlik fight would be a smart move for the Lorenzo team. He hasn't faced tough challenges (when compared to Duddy and I guess Mora 'blahhh'). He has a fight with Raul Marquez coming up which should be a good move in the right direction, but he shouldn't be thrown in with Pavlik so quickly. I feel Arum wants to have a Rubio/Pavlik fight just as a fight to throw in there for Kelly if no one else is around....possibly even making it appear as if Rubio is the real deal with a couple of pushovers to hype the fight.

lots of good ideas from everyone about where pav should go. but why don't we hear more of a demand for pav and oscar to fight?
    (1) oscar wants a huge $$ fight at the end of the year
    (2) beating up on a junior welterweight isn't anyway to go out no matter how many fans ricky brings in.
    (3) pav brings in just as many fans as ricky would
    (4) it doesnt seem out of the realm of possibility for oscar to put on 6lbs to fight at MW given the $$ involved.
i guess this might be wishful thinking but at least it sounds somewhat doable.

GTFO with the Duddy garbage. I think he should fight the winner of Abe/Mir or Calzaghe.

His next fight will hinge largely on a couple of things.

    1. If Calzaghe can make a fight with RJJ
    2. Winner of Abraham-Miranda

Calzaghe doesn't have any other real fight options that he won't be criticized for unless he fight RJJ or Pavlik. It seems to me that he doesn't want to risk things against Pavlik but in my opinion, Pavlik is getting better every fight and Calzaghe maybe a little slower because of age so I would think Calzaghe would want to face him now rather than later. Calzaghe is a great fight and poses the biggest risk to Pavlik out of anyone he may fight. Its a fight I would like to get made and I think Calzaghe is all wrong about Pavlik not wanting that fight.

As far as Miranda/Abraham, I think if Miranda wins, Pavlik won't face either of them, at least not now. Pavlik will have no incentive to move up in weight and face a non-title holder in Miranda that he already to out behind the wood-shed. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good fight but a pointless one for Pavlik.

If Abraham wins, I think a lot of people will be pulling for a unification fight in the fall and I think that it makes most sense for Pavlik if he can't get in the ring with Calzaghe. That being said, I can see a real issue of Abraham fighing Pavlik in the US and getting the fight made but it would be the one to fight.

If none of these could be made then he might as well fight someone and Rubio fits the bill. I good solid contender that I think will fare a little better than Lockett but the outcome will be the same, jsut later in the fight.

I'd love to see it, but it probably wouldn't. Oscar fought twice a MW and what happened? He got a gift decision against Sturm, then got floored by Hopkins the very next fight. All great fighters want to leave on a winning note, but who knows?:thumbsup

IF AA wins (derference to my bud p2k here) there will be an outcry to unify. If he loses, most fans won't want the fight except for unification. I think AA is here to prove to himself and others he can take Pavlik. If he loses, he still has the belt, but will he have the confidence?

I'd like him to keep very active and fight:

    1.Rubio
    2.Abraham-Miranda winner
    3.Duddy
4.Sturm(in Germany as that's the only place where there'd be money for that)

**** knows after that , he'd have the 4 meaningless belts so I presume a few mandatories would come up . Either fight them or move up in weight .

If AA loses, then there goes a serious high-ticket fight and probably makes Uncle Bob less inclined to pair Pavlik up with him.

Then people will be screaming that he isn't taking meaninful fights. AA and Sturm are the only fights at MW right now. Sturm won't fight him. AA will if he beats Miranda. After that not much left for him at MW with Taylor and Miranda gone.
