I am one of those who think pressure would beat PBF, apparently I was wrong.

However it would be interesting to see how PBF handles Williams. Guy is 6'2", with 84" reach. Williams throws thousands of punches. It might just be enough to outland PBF and get a UD.

Cotto deserves his shot if PBF fights again. But Williams is the style problem who has the best shot IMO.

My understanding is that the win there was a bit controversial.

This is one of the main reasons I want to see Cott/Mayweather skil vs skill ..Its a must that this gets made cotto as the patience to make it a very good fight against Floyd .

im sorry Williams doesnt have to power to hurt Floyd and Floyd would SMOTHER his ass to negate that reach and hammer him with accurate body blows as we have seen Floyd is very good at fighting inside and with long arms Williams is at a great disadvantage....as Smart as Floyd and his whole team are in training and executing...i dont see Williams beating Floyd.....Floyd would use Williams length and height against him.

besides waiting for him to be out of his prime....

i think you just have to outbox him. but that just wont happen. only person i think can have a good chance of beating him is Paul Williams....

long reach....fast jab. high volume of punches....but **** mayweather seems to adapt to anything thrown at him.

Perhaps. But Williams fights tall, doesn't stop throwing and fights decent inside. He may smother Williams, but that hasn't worked so far. Williams has good handspeed as well.

if he tries and stand on the outside and box Floyd it will be a long night for him...he does not posess the foot speed for Floyd and the fact he is technical would allow Floyd to Dictate this fight with pot shots in the begining Cotto would mis exhaust himself early and then in the later rounds Floyd will pour it on.....i mean look at Floyds last two fights.....the second half he OWNS!!! I dont see Cotto's stamina being anywhere near Floyds or Hattons.

I still think the best style is Kostya .. he is too old now but his style is the only one that has a real chance i think. He never had a problem timing speedy slick boxers.

Yes. I don't think Williams has much of a chance against Floyd because he's so easy to counter and control. He also doesn't have power. Cotto is the perfect guy to beat Floyd for all the reasons you said, plus he is extremely strong mentally and won't break down or get frustrated, he will stick to the plan 100%. The plan is constant technical pressure with solid defense and a great jab behind it. Floyd must make this match happen. It will be the first 50/50 superfight in a long time and a win for either guy is unbelievably big legacy-wise.

The actual PERFECT perfect strategy/style to beat Floyd though is being a fighter like Tommy Hearns. :D But we will probably not see a fighter that good technically, amazingly tall for a welter, with insane 1 punch power for a while.

I think Cotto has a great chance due to the fact that he is a natural southpaw with power and most importantly well disciplined. A right jab wouldn't be as easy to block with a shoulder roll because it comes in a lot quicker than a right cross does.

hatton's style was spot on to beat him but he seemed to be too amped up on the inside and didnt attack floyds body enough. something castillo did in the first fight to allow him to wear floyd down. cotto has the only chance of the current crop.

Cotto has a small chance but a chance because of his pressure and power, but Floyd should be able to handle him
