I think what people didn't think was gonna happen was that Floyd, for his size can carry the weight at 147. I didn't see him looking blazing fast, but was sneaky. He can hit a little harder now that he is a little more solid at 147. Believe it or not, I think thats bad for him cause it makes him a little more conventional. Hatton went in there with good conditioning, but I don't think he had clear idea of what he wanted to do. If someone like Cotto figts him, the game plan will be to not only outbox him, but to bang him up with hard shots in pockets. An in and out pattern taht will disrupt his rhythm. And after the fight with Mosley, Who I think is superior to Mayweather in handspeed and combinations, Cotto is going to give him problems because he has a tight defense, good technique, severely underrated handspeed, and a debilitating body attack. Hatton did not hurt Mayweather in the fight. He kept cramming his own offense and not once did I see him effectively go to the body due to that. I do not see Cotto doing that. He is do disciplined and focused.

A good tough rugged welterweight that hardly has any technical flaws, and I think Williams and Cotto fit the bill. In the Baldomir fight, Mayweather showed that he doesn't want to engage with fighters that are really tough, Baldomir wasn't the hardest puncher, but he had Mayweather running for deal for a reason. Luckily Baldomir was slow and had bad footowork. If he fought Cotto, I think he has a better chance of cutting out the ring and landing those hooks to the body, Williams is just simply too big, and will eventually get his licks on Mayweather.
