It's not a fact, and you have to be realistic based on the evidence that's available.

Which elite fighters did Joe make look silly?

You guys need a reality check.

This fight would have been ugly at times, and very, very close.

Joe was a great fighter. But he didn't make Reid, Bika or Bernard look silly, so what on earth makes you think he'd have made Ward look silly?

    It's a complete fantasy.

Ward would get swamped with combinations where he would be getting outworked to the point where Hunter would have to ask him if he wished to continue.

Roy Jones and Hopkins tried all the same strategies that Ward uses today and both were made to look like circus clowns with them both desperately resorting to using outdated dirty tricks that were never going to work on someone with Cal's ability and desire.

I don't think this would be much fun to watch but it'd be really interesting. Aside from his fast hands, Calzaghe was adaptable, had a solid chin (and excellent powers of recovery).

Ward is superior on the inside I think and is a little rougher. I'd say he's physically stronger too. Both guys can measure distance well, although I think Joe's speed could lead to him racking up some points on the way inside.

Both guys have an indefatigable quality in that they just don't know how to lose. That's an x-factor that can't be discounted.

Joe has advantages in speed of hand and foot, while Ward can pick shots with more accuracy from the outside.

A controversial decision either way, along the lines of 115-113.

froch lost to just elites. that is the definition of elite, you dont lose to others apart from perhaps other elites. You must be living in an alternative world to everyone on this forum.

Calzaghe, whilst world class, never beat a fit elite, his best case being injured kessler. Joe avoided him like the plague when he was fully fit, for a good reason. This is the only case of joe facing an elite, in special circumstances to boot, in his entire career.

    thats why I said after.

why you want to write something you made up about a different argument? Answer the argument you are given or fail.

whilse we are on your new topic, hopkins was not crushed before calzaghe (and noone claimed he was) but he was marginally beaten by a world class guy twice. Hopkins was by definition no longer a surefire winner at world level. Thats why Joe chased him from that moment, seeking a to beat up another old guy....though he got his estimation wrong and won by a whisker on stamina alone.

if Joe had known hopkins still had a fair bit left, he would have picked another faded victim

If Calzaghe had a decent camp, tune up, and a good camp I'd favor him now.

Too slick, too fast, too smart

why, he wasnt too slick OR too fast OR too smart for Hopkins, who picked him apart whilst he had lungs.

The two things he was over hopkins were TOO FIT and TOO YOUNG. Calzaghe is known for having a massive tank.

Neither of these work to his favour against fully fit hopkins or ward.

It would almost look exactly like Mayweather vs Pacman .

Lol @ the simpletons thinking all you need to do to win fights is throw punches non stop.
