You suspect that my belief stems from my dislike of Ward. By that anyone can say they think your like of Ward. or dislike of Calzaghe influences your opinions. Logic, really? Joe is the better boxer. Joe would win. Just like Hopkins told him he would beat him.....he was wrong. Hopkins was a great and even at the advancement of age brought a lot of experience with him into the fight. He lost. Ward would do the same.Have to go out of town for a while. hope all is well with all while gone. Joe is better. Live with it. Let the arguments continue.

Calzaghe would come to the USA but wherever they fought it would be a classic. It would be a phone booth fight by the start of the mid rounds and Ward specializes in that.

Cal had speed but I don't if he would be strong enough for 12 rounds to deal with Ward. But Cal would be the fastest fighter Ward has faced. If Cal boxes and uses movement for 12 I can see him winning but Ward is just a hell of a fighter. Imma ride with it didn't happen so we will never know. But if I had to pick a winner lol, I won't pick one.

I don't mind living with the truth. Then why do so many people still say tko6 live with it? .I can live with others not sharing my opinion. it is that so many others can't accept someone having one they don't share. hence, ad hominen stuff often. i have done that also.. have to go now. a hundred years from now....everyone on this board will shuffle off their mortal coil living with, or not, their beliefs on this and/or many other things.

If you believe Ward is a limited fighter ydksab , but then again you're the same dope who thinks Vitali was the greatest HW that ever lived.
Ward is near complete as a boxer , better in every department than Calzaghe. Technically on different level.

Two gifs shut down your entire Ward hate piece and make no mistake about it thats exactly what is was.

    Really?

And has Joe never lost rounds to inferior opposition?

This is true. But Joe was a relatively unknown WBO champ who fought at SMW. Bernard didn't think it was worth the risk back then.

The question you should be asking, is: Why was Joe trying to get Bernard to move up to SMW back then?

Why wasn't he up at LHW instead?

Joe would not have won by a comfortable margin.

Why on earth would you have added: "Just wish award would go away" on your poll?

    No.

My opinion doesn't stem from emotion.

My opinions are based on logic.

I've watched both of their careers unfold.

    Both are/were great fighters.

This would have been a very intriguing fight. A great clash of styles. It would have been a very difficult fight for each fighter.

Yes, Hopkins lost. But did Joe win easily? No. He scraped a decision against a 43 old fighter who had to feign injury to grab a breather, as he was unable to fight at a fast pace. Was a 43 year old version of Bernard Hopkins on another level to Andre Ward? No. And he gave Joe a very hard fight, so much so, Joe's own father thought that he'd lost. It was a case of quality vs quantity, with Joe just edging it, where he concentrated more on volume rather than accuracy. Andre Ward has similarities with Bernard, but we're looking here at a 28 year old elite fighter, and not one who was 43.

Predicting an easy win for Joe is just completely ignorant.

Whilst everyone is entitled to their own opinion, an opinion that can be respected, should be objective and based on logic.

If Joe couldn't toy with Reid, Kessler, Bika or Hopkins, what makes you think would he'd have toyed with Andre?

    It's just a fantasy.

There's just no logic to your opinion.

Yet there's still people out there who genuinely believe that he'd have beaten a prime version of Roy at SMW.

    Ha!
