It's a well known fact Floyd was to fight judah for the belts before he lost to Baldomir.

Don't know why "objective" posters never post the circumstances surrounding and leading up to a bout.

And yes, the time when you fight them, is just as important as the name, and how far removed are they when they made that name mean something.

Don't fully understand that statement, when one went on to dominate every fighter he faced with their varying styles, and the other one just about, with the exception of dominating skilled technicians

So.... Pacquiao/Casamayor/Diaz X2/Salido/Katsidis/Gainer/Barrera/(huge drop off) are better fighters than the guys on Pac and May's resume?

You literally wanting to do the "List their 12 best wins" thing?

  5. Still Pacquiao. He stepped up, fought the best, and beat the best...except for the one who wouldn't fight. :deal

  6. Pacquiao fought and beat all 3.

But how about where they were in their careers?

-Prime, dominant Barrera I. A++ win.
-Barrera II. Kinda pointless. Not as though Barrera was at a better place in his career.

    -Morales I. Past prime. Loss.
-Morales II. Further past prime and a loss in the interim. Good revenge though.
-Morales III. Oh come on, not a top tier victory.

    -Marquez I. Draw. Super epic.
-Marquez II 4 years later. SD. Epic, could've been scored to either by 1 point, anything more is questionable to me.
-Marquez III 3 years later. Marquez was 38. Fighting at WW for just the second time with no wins there. 2/3 of viewers score for Marquez. Nearly 100% of current or former boxers score for Marquez.
-Marquez IV the next year. Marquez was 39. Still without a victory at WW. KTFO.

    Names don't mean everything.

Coming form a nuthugging nonita fan doesn't mean ****.Pac/may carefully pick their fights Respected floyd when he fought the best at a younger age.Pac he's catchweight king don't bring his fraud ass up before expose his career further more.I'd say floyd by a hair but you could argue Marquez matches him. Fighting prime pac 4x is better than anything in floyds career resume fact. You can't judge fighter on just resume Marquez was kept away form many of the cash cow stars because he was a threat. Were as in Floyd/pac stayed away from them.Pac/floyd 2 really good fighters future hall of famers but media/fans overrate them vastly.Floyd/Marquez then everybody else.

He also lost to the best version of Morales he ever faced & lost to Marquez at least 3 times.... fair enough, he fought the 3 Mexicans but he was 50% responsible for denying the fans the biggest fight of the generation & possibly all time, the Mexicans would never have humiliated themselves or disrespected the sport & the fans by acting out that absolute farce for 3 whole years. pac & floyd do not deserve to have threads made about them discussing ATGness because they acted the exact oposite of what a true ATG would have... see Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Chavez, Whitaker etc to see how real p4p champions do it, those 2 are a disgrace & do not belong. Simple.

Except Floyd's best wins are against people coming off career wins/performances. Gatti was certainly an important win, but by no means career defining.

Every notable win Pac has is circumstantial, occur in a way which is advantageous for him, and he still won't take a drug test :patsch

1 track mind. they only see **** for Pac and against Floyd. Reason bc they know Pac is not as good as floyd which is why day after day they are trying to discredit Floyd.

Lol...the best of his generation? SMFH...just wow! "fighters age different"? No, some fighters actually work on and perfect their craft, hence as their athletic ability begins to deminish they don't get sparked the **** out by 39 year old career LW's, and get written off as "finished" at 33 years old. Clearly he's not what he was made out to be (as many here have said for years), it doesn't mean he's not great...he's just not anything more than a sub elite boxer, who relied on athletic ability and carefully selected opponents to build his brand. I respect his contributions and accomplishments but he's not on Mayweathers level and that's fairly obvious to anyone with one sliver of objectivity.

I am Pacman fan, but to be honest Manny is more of a leader. I think of Floyd of as an individualist then a leader. Look at the Manny's interest in politics. I just don't think Floyd would be interested in that type of stuff. Look at Vitales interest in politics. He is a leader also.
