Wasn't the plan Kelly vs Benn? Avanesyan pissed all over that. He deserves to fight Benn but Hearn won't let it happen anytime soon.

 

He's so crap and unproven, I don't think he's at the ducking level yet. Still very much a work in progress.

I mean he has a crap WBA belt but who doesn't these days.

I'd rather see him face Chris Jenkins first tbh.

He's the European champ, he shouldn't be chasing a fight against a low ranked British prospect.

European champs tend to try stepping up to face actual world ranked opponents.

Conor Benn is a crap boxer, has poor footwork, he can't throw a proper jab, can't cut off the ring BUT....

Shawn Porter is also a CRAP boxer but he's very strong, explosive and throws wild hook combos which eventually land on the target. Porter hasn't changed and his father has taught him virtually nothing new. It's suited him fine against the elite and world class boxers.

Porter is more explosive and stronger than Benn and gets inside easier because of his superior movement. He's also much more experienced with a proper amatuer background.

Benn is not fully confident yet and is trying to convince himself mentally at the moment that he is. He's unproven but he can still beat the likes of the always overrated and lazy Adrien Broner. Who's still a name and he would look good against.

He's actually probably a 140 pounder masquerading as a 147 pounder similar to Adrien Broner and Paulie Malignaggi.

 

Then why did he fight Kelly?

I just want Benn to make a mistake like Kelly did and get flattened.

It's more if Benn deserves to fight him, and right now he doesn't.

Avensayan is 33 and Conor 24 is about to enter prime so I don't see why can't develop and beat Aven. If he has the right mindset and work ethic.Which he does!!

Avanesyan has got tougher since he fought the corpse of Mosley but his boxing ability hasn't improved much at all. He's just at european level and when he moved upto the true world level he got dominated.

He's took much longer to get where Conor Benn is now.

He might beat Conor Benn now and beat the guys he's fought. However he's not unbeatable and can be outboxed. I don't think you need some special blueprint to beat him.
