Looking back at it in hindsight what are your opinions and feelings about that fight?

Hatton at his absolute best and he fought the perfect fight using some dirty tactics throughout. On that night Ricky gave the impression that he wasn't going to let anyone beat him, and Kostya didn't have the hunger himself to grind out a result.

A 35 year old Tszyu hadn't fought in 7 months, wasn't serious about boxing anymore, & was in the least active phase of his career. It turns out, he was in the very last part of his career. The fight was in England & the ref wasn't strict about "clinching" (*cough*hold & hit*cough*).

Younger, hungrier, tenacious, overrated hometown guy beat the older, washed up, boxing-heart-lacking, overrated guy.

I'm minority opinion, but I think that version of hatton or any version of hatton from '04-'07 gives prime tszyu hell....do I think he would win? I don't know.....but some think prime tszyu walks all over hatton, I don't agree....Hatton's style would have always been tough for tszyu....

Keep in mind too Tszyu quit on his stool...

Hatton did a good job neutralising Tszyu's power by closing the distance and was able to keep the entire fight at a close distance which suited him to a tee. Tszyu was a bit of a goose for obliging him trying to 'beat him at his own game' (as he would go on to say later) when Tsyzu had nothing to prove. This leads me to believe Tszyu would make the same mistake had he fought him in his prime. He did do the same thing against Vince Phillips. Full props for Hatton for this win. Tszyu was old, but I don't believe he was shot. Hatton just came in with the right game plan and was able to follow it through.

I'm always a little doubtful when analysts say that Hatton's punch resistance has gone. For, though this is probably true to a degree, if you watch the Kosta Tszyu fight Hatton gets hit a lot coming in, and his legs look shaken, it's just his momentum which seems to carry him through onto the shoulder of Tszyu. I wonder if, at the elite level, Hatton ever had that great a chin. As soon as Hatton fought Mayweather - someone as smart, young and fit enough - to back off when Hatton was stumbling towards him (with no small amount of help from Cortez), he got Ko'd. That said, you can't question Hatton's heart; a deserved champion.

That fight was a joke...the ref was letting a young fighter have his way with an old fighter.

I have never placed any credence in that fight. Hatton was legitimately knocked down from a body shot and the ref called it a low blow...Hatton then retaliated with a malicious low blow...rotten fight that isn't even worth discussion.

And I was acutally rooting for Hatton before the fight.

    Ludicrous hater post.
    Hatton was at his best.
Tszyu was past prime but still a dangerous man.
Hardly anyone gave Hatton a chance.
Tszyu was holding a lot too.
Tszyu quit on his stool and later found to have a broken jaw and swelling on the brain.
Tszyu quit boxing after the fight. Think he would of done if he'd won.

I didn't vote, because I never watched the fight, but if it's anything like the Collazo fight, I don't want to watch it. I like Hatton, he seems like a cool little dude, but I can't stand to watch him fight sometimes. Too much hugging and holding and wrestling and diving into his opponent. It's brutal.

If that was Hatton at his best, then I'm sure it was no surprise that he got strarched by Manny in two rounds. He displayed more skill against JLC, Juan Urango(in the first 5 rounds), and Paulie malignaggi.

And no...I don't hate Hatton...I actually like the man...just don't favor his style of fighting...the face first, greco-roman style of fighting.

He is a very entertaining personality and very good for the sport.

    Just an unbiased spectator.

I'm not a massive Hatton fan but that version of Ricky, the hungry, ferocious man that stood in front of Kosta and ground the Australian down any way he could until he couldn't envision facing another round of it, beats any of the current 140 pounders, including Bradley. Yes that is not a direct answer to your question, but credit where credit is due, he was an intimidating force in that fight, very intimidating.

    Very good not great victory.

They both done there fair share of fouling don't forget. Neither man should have been penalised for this by any illiterate keyboard king. The intensity of that fight would have halted even some of the most blessed boxers out there.

Who is that directed at? If me how? I have an option that says Hatton beat Tszyu in his prime plain and simple.
