This is what is shown on the NSAC website currently. It seems that this is the most current rule, which basically says gloves are to be between 8-10 ounces, and that the commission will set the weight during championship fights.

NAC 467.427 Requirements for gloves. (

)The gloves used in a contest or exhibition must meet the following requirements:

    1. The gloves must be examined by the representative of the Commission and the referee. If padding in any glove is found to be misplaced or lumpy or if any glove is found to be imperfect, the glove must be changed before the contest or exhibition starts. No breaking, roughing or twisting of gloves is permitted.

    2. The gloves for every contest or exhibition that is designated as a main event must be new, furnished by the promoter and made to fit the hands of the unarmed combatant.

    3. If the gloves to be used in preliminary contests or exhibitions have been used before, they must be whole, clean and in sanitary condition. The gloves are subject to inspection by the referee or representative of the Commission. If a glove is found to be unfit, it must be replaced with a glove that meets the requirements of this section.

    4. Each promoter must have an extra set of gloves of the appropriate weight available to be used in case a glove is broken or otherwise damaged during the course of a contest or exhibition.

    6. For contests or exhibitions of mixed martial arts, each unarmed combatant must wear gloves that weigh not less than 4 ounces and not more than 8 ounces.

    7. Unarmed combatants shall use only those brands and models of gloves that have been approved by the Commission for their contest or exhibition.

    [Athletic Comm’n, §§ 6-10, eff. 4-25-78]—(NAC A 12-13-82; 11-2-88; 12-2-97; R083-00, 9-22-2000; R070-01, 8-31-2001; R058-05, 12-29-2005; R090-07, 12-4-2007)

Here is your answer, Bazooka. Pac is within the current NSAC rules.

Back to the Pac hating drawing board, eh?

    :yep

he's all in when it comes to hating pacquiao. one of these days, pac will lose and he will finally be able to celebrate.

you should see these mexicans that go to pac fights. except the marquez I fight where they actually cheered for a draw..they usually walk with their heads bowed..

What this illustrates is PBF willingness to make the fight the first time around. He could have easily refused the 8 oz gloves and the default would have been 10 oz gloves end of discussion, per the rules. No different than Floyd can request extra testing, Manny can refuse, and the default rules would be those of the NSAC. There is no rule against extra drug testing, hence the validity of the request from PBF. The difference in the two is that Floyd accepted the 8 oz gloves, with no issue, Manny balked and ran from Floyd's demand.

8oz glove was not an issue since even floyd used it against jmm the previous fight. pac also accpepted additional testing, the issue was the cutoff.

if pac request anything that varies from standard( ie, type of gloves, size of gloves, catchweights, weight penalties) is ok cuz its "pacquiao" Mr. cant do anything wrong. oh but God forbid anybody demand anything that pac doesnt find favorable cuz that a no no. F*CK Pac and his legions, Im tired of this crap. he has become such a diva.

Hence my earlier post, on to Texas! I think If you check each boxing organization has there own view on this. Wbc Wbo WBA . Arum could easy take this to Dubai , Singapore or anywhere in the World. Travel would upset a few I guess, as only about 35% of Us citizen have passports.

How is it a crazy thread? As far as I know Pac is the only fighter requesting this particular rule change which is clearly to his benefit. It's one more instance of the rules being bent and the tables consistently tilted in his favor.

LOL, you're late to this thread and behind 14 pages. I suggest you read everything before you comment as it's already been resolved and TS owned.
