I am pointing out that its a fighters right to request those gloves, just like its a fighters right to request additional testing.

So please stop acting like Floyd is trying to re write the rules here, the rules are already established by this very commission and state that a fighter has the right to request additional testing...

whats not in the rules is demanding catchweights, thats what contracts are about, if you want to talk about following the rules of the sport, then lets talk that, but lets also not forget, that alot of rules have been modified to benefit Manny Pacquiao....

What's the big deal? Both fighters will wear 8oz. gloves.

Just like the Floyd's rule of drug testing, both fighters will be tested.

If two fighters agree to use small gloves, there's no issue.

What happens in they disagree though? Surely then the gloves would be larger?

They are not rules of either fighter, they are request, and the commission honors those request in their very own rules...

Rarely do fighters 147 and below actually use 10oz gloves... they are considered pillows by professionals. Anyone demanding or desiring the use of 10oz gloves at these lower weights is nothing more than a coward.

HeavyWeights used to wear 8oz gloves.

Your right, But lets be real here, even 8 ounce gloves are looked at the same way, Ask Manny about his 8 ounce winning glove experience.
All I am saying is if you all want to talk rules of the commisson this is a rule, but again like the steroid thing, a fighter has the right to request the 8 ounce gloves... just as Floyd has the right to request additional testing per the rules.

i didn't say he lost because of the gloves. I just said that last time someone prevented him from wearing the gloves he wanted, he lost the fight.

that is a 100% true fact. And if you think it's wrong then you need to brush up on your knowledge.

dude you're becoming a joke of a poster on here..

The only reason NSAC made that rule is to protect themselves in potential legal claims. ALMOST NO ONE USES 10oz GLOVES BELOW 147... for you to single out Pacquiao just exposes yourself as being nothing more than a hater.

What double standard?? this was the only place in the world asking guys to wear this size gloves.. The **** barely lasted a year... they realized their mistake and amended it for the fighters to make their choice... What percentage of fighters in Nevada do you think pick the pillows over the gloves???

Is there any where else in the world they wear these big ass gloves???

The rule hasnt changed, its just pre stated in all of Mannys contracts what type of glove will be used.
Just as it is regarding fighting Mayweather, in terms of what type of testing will be conducted.
