NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer had this to say about the Marg vs. Cotto fight; "The inspector is there watching the hands get wrapped, and there is also a member of the other team..Evangelista Cotto was there. And he is not a guy who is very passive. He is a guy who will say, 'What's that?' "Evangelista is a very hands-on checker. He was there watching it. We had one of our top inspectors, Jack Lazzarotto, one of our most experienced inspectors, back there." Refereee Jay Nady was there as well. So not only did the NSAC provide the gauze, but they had one of their top inspectors, the referee, and Cotto's trainer there watching Margo getting his hands wrapped.
I thought Evangelista admitted he didn't watch the tape and that's one of the main reasons him and Miguel broke up...?
i read somewhere that Cotto said they didn't send anybody to check Magaritos wraps. storys changin all the time.
This whole slandering of the Margo/Cotto fight is HBO's way of selling an undefeated fighter.. ("Cotto") To bad, We all seen him beatdown by Margarito. (Styles nightmare)
Arum said Evan wasn't back there at all. The same Arum that said Margarito never cheated. And that commissioner even admit that he wasn't there when Margarito happen so he's taking word of Cotto. Arum said that california commissioners were there in Margarito dressing room ready to approved Margarito until Nazim saw something in Margarito hand wrap. Imo i think Evan was not there and the reason those commissioners are saying he was there so they won't be like idiot people of not having an opposite fighter's trainer there to see whats going on.
Everybody believes what they want to believe, a documentary needs to be made to bring everyone and everything invloved to light so we can finally have closure on this mess.
Think about it people that's really the reason why Cotto fired his trainer and his cutman. I think the whole brawl fight between Cotto and his Uncle is not cause of where the training should take place, it's cause Cotto's uncle wasn't being responsible of not going to Margarito's lockeroom to check Margarito's hand wrap.
Here are some more quotes; "Well, Bob was not back there, nor was I,...But Jack Lazzarotto and Jay Nady were. And when the hands were wrapped, Evangelista was back there, that was my understanding. ... From everyone I've talked to, Evangelista was back there and he was definitely on his game and definitely observing the hand wraps of Mr. Margarito." -Keith Kizer "It's been a year and a half, but my recollection is he (Evangelista Cotto) was back there,..He is a pretty assertive guy. Jay (Nady) was back there with me. That is my recollection." "Margarito has always been a real gentleman," said Lazzarotto, who speaks English and Spanish fluently. "Anything we asked him to do, he would do." "I can tell you emphatically, I checked the wraps and I felt the wraps and there was nothing illegal about the wraps," -NSAC inspector, Jack Lazzarotto "As far as who the (Nevada) commission guys were, I don't know who was back there," -Bob Arum
The one i put underline, where is the rest of the sentence bigreg that Arum said "The california commission were there and was about to approved Margarito hand wrap until Nazim saw something." Come on bigreg.
How? Would the NSAC providing new gauze to a fighter prevent them from inserting a plaster smeared pad inside of them?
