It can't really be guaranteed if there's a condition to getting it other than turning up for the fight. Too many people try to make out they're financial analysts and boxing experts. I'm neither, but I work in financial services as a copywriter/journalist, so at the very least I do my research and speak to people who do know.
from what I've read its a conditional guarantee. And I'm not trying to make out like i'm some financial analyst. Get off your high horse
You don't seem to understand the term either - he was not guaranteed $15m at any point. It was $10m approx for turning up to fight Marquez. The $15m includes seperate earnings for PPV revenue. Floyd would get a $10m guranteed purse and, if the PPV was successful, he would get a proportion of that money too, which was estimated at $5m before the fight happened.
I apologise. It wasn't directed at you, but I didn't make that very clear. The guarantee is for turning up to fight - your purse. Pac may be guaranteed a portion of the PPV, if the fight's a success and that is a conditional guarantee, but the $7.5m is money he'll get however well the fight does.
Great thing for Pac if this is true, is he doesnt have to pay the same kinds of taxes for the US since hes not a full citizen. So his take home is much greater. Poor Floyd, making all that money and has to sell his soul to Golden Boy because he cant afford to pay a 6 mil tax lien.:|
7.5? slap in the face for him to as lion share of mayweathers purse. and to be honest its a slap in the face to him floyd dont play that **** he make them *******s dig deep in there pockets. cotto 4 mill? **** aint right somebody gonna have to come with a legit source Mosley can make 7.5 and he washed up like that beer Kane dropped in menance to society 40 and Broke
**** sake though - it's $7.5 million - it's not like he'll be begging for scraps on that payday. Floyd will probably make less because of his tax owings.
its definately surprising cause he was guaranteed 12M against Hatton and now if he's down to 7.5 against Cotto thats a major downgrade.
I guess Hatton just brought a lot more to the table, finacially speaking. Sky were prepared to put a lot of money in, as were HBO. Plus I think the marketing spend was a lot higher since Hatton had faced Floyd, and Manny had just faced Oscar.
Yes, he does deserve more money. He is a better prize fighter. PBF is just the best boxer alive right now. Too bad he doesn't challenge himself like Manny does.
