I have read from posters, maybe not "legit" fans, that both Charlo and Andrade have not done enough to warrant a fight with G. Personally, as a fill in fight, exceptions need to be made. So you can't really blame G if a subpar opponent steps into the ring on May 5 with him. The Canelo fight is the one that should have gone down and that's all I got to say about that!

G/Derevyenchanko would be a pleasant surprise for fight fans! At least we can agree on that! LOL

Man the fall of Canelo has wrecked the lives of some fans:risas3:
I have no issue with Canelo other than the BS story of tainted meat. I find it hilarious that all his defenders , he’s clean, went dark after he canceled his own fight. An innocent man would have fought life and death to drive home his story

I am disappointed in Canelo for pulling out. He let media and fans sway him and that shows weakness. He’s not ready to be a true elite fighter. You can’t let the fickle fair weather masses sway you. At the end of the day they don’t care either way and they pick and choose what fighters they mind and don’t mind being a drug cheat.

Go bump all the conspiracy theory threads on Povetkin when he was poppped. You’ll see the same posters believing or at least supporting his excuse of his “food” being tampered with.

@CST80 give me some credit for staying away from a Canelo/GGG thread for as long as I could. I promise I’ll go on another streak after this post.

I don't know who you're supposed to get with only a month before the fight date. I would prefer GGG just wait another month or so and fight Saunders.

I respectfully disagree. From the start Canelo was in a lose lose situation whether you give him the benefit of the doubt regarding the tainted meat or not.

I think when GGG made it clear by lashing out, calling Canelo a cheater, that he wasn't going to respect the outcome of the fight if Canelo came out victorious, at that moment I believe Canelo felt there was no point in going through with the fight.

GGG was the only person who would ultimately legitimize the fight by accepting it and being gracious if he was defeated, when he proved he wasn't then there was no point in going through with it.

My understanding was that Charlo wouldn’t take the fight, same as Saunders. As for Andrade, one day he shouted over the social media that he wants a shot and everyone started to sing the “Golovkin is scared of Andrade” tune. I’m afraid that’s not how boxing works.
It’s clear as a day why they wanted Spike, considering the circumstances, but they should get Derevyachenko in there as he’s the one who actually deserves it and would make the most sense.

Canelo is facing a certain suspension, from 1 year to possible 6 months. Withdrawing as soon as possible was the best decision from a legal standpoint. Assume that Canelo persisted and was then banned on April 18. That would leave ggg just 2 weeks to find a replacement. Canelo had no choice but to withdraw

I read he wants the May fight to stay busy then the BJS fight in August. I can’t knock him for that. 2 fights in 3 months is very active.

That's an oxymoron , no one with any intellect would associate them selves with a Walter Mitty such as you! Dreamer

Several top fighters have offered to step in. Finding a quality opponent is not the problem GGG is having. Selling a no hoper for May 5th is there biggest problem.

I doubt you know much regardinf the legalities of this situation. Neither one of us have read the contract.

Canelo withdrew imo because he was not going to get credit for beating GGG. When Golovkin came out and claimed Canelo was using injections and has been cheating and also accused DLH of cheating throughout his career he pretty much killed any hope of saving this fight imo.
