Kovalev was done anyway. And Ward was 1000% prepared mentally and physically to close the show. Ward was robbed too, as much as Krusher, who had less than 1% chances to make a comeback as his stamina was gone, he was runing on fumes already
And of course NSAC is on.the take. Weeks is famous for letting the dirtier fighters do what they do best. Its no coincidence he got this fight.

I had no doubt that there wouldn't be any type of change to the official decision. Sure it wasn't the greatest stoppage, but Kovalev was about to get really hurt in there if the ref let the fight continue.

Sergey didn't look like he had any idea on how to adjust after he kept pawing out that lazy left hand. I used to think he was a much better boxer, maybe his age has caught up to him. He is 34 after all.

 

I think Ward is the better fighter and would've won without any low blows/cheating.

But I still don't like it. The low blows looked bad to me.

I can't appreciate Ward's abilities after seeing that.

It Is just so sick to watch total biased us box fights. How all the guys like kellerman, lamplay and weeks are all in that rocky mood is just so sick. Everybody agrees that the bad russian bully is going to be beaten by the american. It reminded me alot of smoggers when he was the ref for hopkins vs murat. He was also so biased towards hopkins because he was so deep in his own movie of the good american guy beating thr bad muslim.
Of course hopkins is the muslim and murat is an armenian christian... but thats just american ignorance.

I shouldn't even have to preface my post with this statement, but I guess I have to- I'm a Caucasian male from New York City. Maybe it's because I grew up in the most diverse area on the planet that I don't look at anyone's skin tone with prejudice- you know why? No one has any control over what color they are and where they're born into.

But for some reason on this forum, European poster's have a major issue with a lot of American fighters- specifically African American fighters and some of the posts I read are overtly racist and disgusting at its core. I'm not going to pretend that i don't see it from the other side as well as I see some posters from the states take shots any chance they get at European fighter's. It's just so ridiculous in 2017 that people still give a $hit about things we have no control over and just can't appreciate good fighter's irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds.

I'm a fan of good boxers, period. I don't care what their color is, what religion they are, who they have sex with, etc. If they can fight, they can fight.

You shouldn't assume I'm a Ward fan; I'm a fan of both fighter's. I know, that's a very tough idea to grasp given how polarizing this forum is and that most people hate Ward or Kovalev. I appreciate both men and the different styles and skills they bring to the ring.

I'm not a fan of how Kovalev has been conducting himself outside of the ring both pre and post fight, but I've been watching him closely since he beat Cleverley. I've always believed he had very good boxing skills, as was evident with his one sided destruction of a crafty boxer in Hopkins, but it looks like at this juncture in his career father time has caught up to him.

It would be nice if he was a bit more gracious in defeat, but based off his demeanor in general I guess that's wishful thinking.

Still, he's an excellent fighter who could probably beat most of the 175 lber's out there. Ward is just too good for him.
