no, calzaghe ditched his pavlik plans when he thought a fight w/ rjj that he would be promoting along w/ jones at msg would make more money.

this is not really in dispute. joe made a business decision. he was trying to maximize profit as he eased out the back door. he wasnt getting any younger. rjj seemed like the better money fight so he made it. but that doesnt change the fact that he spent a good while calling kelly pavlik out.

 

Tell me noob: How long have you actually followed boxing? The Pavlik/Calzaghe news is ancient history, and only the worst of the calzombies deny the facts.

And here are a few more questions for you: How much did Sauerland offer Pavlik to fight in Germany, AA's biggest market? Other than the ridiculous demand for a $2 million dollar guarantee, what serious offer did Sauerland propose for a fight in Atlantic City? How much did HBO, or any other network, offer for the fight? What was the proposed purse split? What was the proposed split on the gate and ancillary monies? The answers to those questions do not exist because Sauerland NEVER intended to let Kelly Pavlik anywhere near Arthur Abraham. End of story.

And as far as Williams is concerned, the offer of $1.2 million, a cut of the gate, and a cut of the endorsements is still on the table. It adds up to a career high pay day for PW. Williams was last seen on the back of a milk carton.

 

In the end he CLAIMED he made as much money as he would have against Pavlik, but people adding up the gate and PPV have cast doubt on this. He thought it was time to go into business himself and he and RJJ co-promoted the event so you had two amateur promoters involved.

If you go over to You Tube, listen to Bunce, and listen to some fights from english speaking european countries, it quickly becomes obvious that their sports media feeds them a constant stream of complete bull****.

And Sauerland offered a fight to Pavlik, Pavlik turned it down. Top Rank never made an offer to Abraham to fight Pavlik, they were scared shitless of their own golden boy fighting anyone even on the top20 middleweights. And Pavlik already cancelled a fight with Williams to fight two weeks later against Miguel Espino. He ducked both.

And LOL at the people saying Calzaghe ducked Pavlik - Pavlik lost to Hopkins and then dissapeared.

Here is the news Talyor and Pavlik are both not very good. The fact that Pavlik beat Taylor means **** all - and that Talyor beat Hokpins is impressive but clearly a style thing.

Pavlik and Taylor are domestic level fighters - they may have won/hold world championships but they are going to germany to beat AA or GB to beat Joe. Both those fighters could go to the US and kick Taylor/Pavlik's asses.

 

Pavlik ducked Abraham, Taylor got retired by Abraham. Abraham is the second best of the decade after Hopkins.

 

Answer my questions noob. If Sauerland offerd Pavlik a fight with AA, then please do tell; what venue? How much? What TV network? And let's see you post a link to any video or article to back your claim. You're a victim of the bias and distorted crap the the european sports media dishes up. You cannot find a single shread of evidence to back up anything you said about Pavlik/Abraham. If you can, then please do so.

Williams is in hiding and wants nothing to do with Pavlik. That fight could be made today. All PW has to do is say yes. Please at least try to keep up with the current news instead of coming on here with all your bull****.
