Nunez does better pad work than Claressa Shields

I must have missed Nunes winning an Olympic gold medal and her boxing career then. Nunes isn't a boxer she's an MMA fighter, to even suggest she could out box Shields is ridiculous when she's never competed as a boxer to my knowledge. She has as much chance of out boxing her as did McGregor did Mayweather and we saw what happened there.

 

Looking good on pads don’t mean **** anyone who’s boxed before will tell you that it don’t matter how impressive you look on the pads.

 

Its easy maths.

MMA: Nunes would beat the living crap out of her.

Boxing: Shields would box her way to a decision win.

 

lol, you wouldnt be half as fast as her. you think throwing with that much force is easy to do with speed? you have nothing in your background to gauge by, to even have an idea.

 

Nope. Shields wins in boxing. Nunes is a kicking heavy Stand up fighter in MMA. Her striking is basically just there to prepare the kick which closes her combo. She'll struggle if she can't use her legs. Don't let your Shields hate take over the common sense. I'm following the UFC for many years and i can guarantee you Shields would beat her in a boxing fight under pro rules. Nunes also struggles in close range, Shields would repeat the Hammer performance and outwork her in close range. No beatdown but basically a shutout like decision. Maybe 1 or 2 rounds to Nunes.

I'm not even sure if many people in here really watched Nunes fights. A lot of stuff here is just wikicapping and watching a 3 minute highlight video. Nunes never really boxed her way to a win. She even struggled vs. very good strikers like GDR.

 

Based on what?

Shields fought at 154, 160 and 167. Nunes is a natural 135er who fought at 145 recently because of the lack of competition at 135.

Majority of Nunes stoppages are either GnP stoppages or some kick based stoppages like the freaking head kick against Holly Holm.

Considering the fact her power didn't really translate to 145 in her last few fights and she couldn't even beat GDR standing (who won R2 on the feet) i don't think there is any logical reason to believe she would knock out Shields with big gloves in a boxing fight at 154 or even 160 pounds.

 

Shields struggles if a girl goes right at her. She struggles with pressure and output. Nunes would give her the exact same fight as Hammer did. Nunes is only really good on the feet if she can maintain distance. When GDR was closing the distance in R2 she was outworking her and shut Nunes down. Nunes would probably do better than most of Shields opponents but i have a really, really hard time to see her beating Shields in 10x2 rounds of pro boxing.

 

I remember when the milf Cat Zingano destroyed Amanda Nunes. Nunes has improved since then.

Nunes is the ''goat'' in women's mma. Women's mma and women's boxing have a lower talent bar so it wouldn't really surprise me if Nunes beat Shields in a boxing match.

Shields advantage is she would know how to pace herself in the distance of a 10 round boxing match better. Nunes might tire herself out by head hunting because that's basically the level of her boxing is to simply head hunt and the knockout should come.

Nunes kryptonite is a good wrestler type with a solid chin but i don't think that woman exists in UFC. Kayla Harrison is touted to be good in PFL but she's only really fought soccer moms so who really knows how good she is.

 

Shields is a total bum. She dominates divisions with 50 fighters in them, and 30 of those are soccer moms with 0-1 records. She's simply not a good fighter and the female MMA bum has legitimately more skill. Shields is slow, clunky and unathletic, delusional, zero power. If there were any depth in her weight class and in female boxing she'd have been relegated to a Charlie Zelenoff level fighter years ago.
