Yeah sounds about right, I think I'd still keep my cheat meal even if they weren't proven. I know a lad who had a cheat day and wondered why he wasn't losing weight. The fry up breakfast, fish and chips dinner and pizza he was putting away for tea weren't a clue as to the reason why. My meal is usually pasta or something with carbs, due to the lack of them through the week. Or steak and chips with a fried egg.
If the science behind cheat days are true (i did say IF) then apparently a cheat meal wont provide you with the benifits and will just increase the calories for that day with out the benifit because the increase in calories isnt enough to trigger the hormone release youre after. :S bloody confused gona research this more
definately confusing mate, also virus said that starvation mode is unrelated. also theres always two studies conflicting which is further confusion in the mix. I just dont know what to believe sometimes on the internet :think still i have 1 cheat meal a week, and 6 days eating well and training/running etc. this works for me due to the 6 days training and eating well, not due to the cheat meal, i just do it because i would kill myself i i was eating healthy the whole time.
at the end of the day theres no point going into the ''science'' of things to much unless you really really are interested its all common sense eat healthy occasionally cheat if you feel you have to as long as you are CONSISTENT with your diet and excercise!
cheat days are for pussies. Ricky Hatton had cheat months and he became a world champion. Atleast aim for cheat weeks
i feel it is a good thing to have a cheat day, but i dont have a specific day where im going to cheat, for example yesterday i decided to have a whole pack of jaffa cakes, and stuff my face with roasted peanuts, i hadn't had a cheat day in two weeks so i just called it that:good. I find it easier this way, because say i want to go out somewhere with friends, or family, like the cinema for example its not fun to not eat:good
I don't understand why people are so afraid of eating.. Have maccas a few times a week, it will make no difference and will probably help you if you're training hard.
Seriously. If you're training your body is gonna use what you eat, so as long as you're getting all your essential vitamins and enough macronutrients to recover/fuel you, you're fine. If you start gaining, eat less. If you're always hungry/irritable/having headaches, eat more. The problem is when all you eat is ice cream and ramen for a week or something. One thing I'll shy away from in training though is alcohol. That **** makes me sluggish and for some reason my legs ALWAYS ache the day after, kind of like growing pains. Just not conducive to training. Though I'll definitely reward myself by getting annihilated on the weekends if I feel up to it.
