I watched Andy Ruizs "highlights" and its ok but I didnt see anything to suggest he could beat Parker. He looked, slow, fat and short. Parkers fast, athletic and tall. They sparred before and both fighters have come along way since then. Ruiz is a champion, Parkers not but I hear more of Parker than I do of Ruiz. I think this fight would be a step UP for the champion, not so much the challenger.
Joseph Parker's thoughts on sparring Ruiz : "I remember when I sparred him in 2013, he had a lot of power. I was saying to someone he was the hardest I've ever been punched by before and he ripped my mouth. I couldn't eat for about three days so I know he's got a lot of power, and he's got a lot of experience."
Worth noting here that he's sparred Wladimir Klitschko and Bermaine Stiverne, among others who aren't exactly feather fisted...
True, but did he spar them after Ruiz? I think he sparred Wlad in 2015, after he'd made those comments.
Yeah I already heard from Kevin Barry who was present at their first sparring session. Barry explained that Ruiz BEAT Parker in all the rounds of their first session. They sparred again after that but thats history now... Like I said in my previous post, both fighters have come along way since then. I feel that Parker has soared to greater heights, despite Ruizs title. Yes Im a Parker fan but you can clearly see that Parker would be the favourite if they were to fight, based on there previous fights. Ive just started watching Ruizs fights on youtube and he can be troublesome like Takam but I just dont see Ruiz holding out. He will be overwhelmed by Parkers speed and forceful straights unlike anyone Ruiz has fought before.
Bill Nasio also captured the Aussie heavyweight title from Hunter Sam Shay Brock won in Auckland moves to 8-0
Bob Arum says Parker Ruiz likely for January. Just needs to work the money side out and 'neutral' judges....
