NZ Super8 Heavyweight Tournament

    To be held in Auckland on the 4th of June, prize money of $500 grand to the winner, each fighter gets $7 grand per fight, More money if they win and a bonus if they win by Ko.

    Michael sprott
    Martin rogan
    Kali Meehan

    All confirmed fighters at this point.

    Hopefully we might see more global fighters, rather than just from the commonwealth region countries. Hopefully they get at least 2 decent names to join otherwise this is no bigger than prizefighter...just the money

    I guess they will bank on big PPV numbers plus gate...... It's only 500k

    Can't see Oz Main Event taking it live at 5pm on Wednesday (4:30 centre & 3pm west)

    By getting 2 poms, they will sell it atleast to a couple of uk providers, will depend on who they get next I spose, but ud think the ppv numbers in NZ would be huge for something like this

    Don't know being huge in NZ....NZ ain't huge. ATM, paperwork I've got only mentions Sky Arena & Main Event

    IMO, it's overly ambitious. However, if it eventuates I wish it all the very best.

    :D seems like a lot of money getting known around and the fighters they have signed so far are hasbeens at best that will be fighting for their biggest pay day, in the twilight of their careers which IMO is making this tourney looking pretty bad

    To me a 'total prize package of 500k' means total for all fighters and all fights, not 500k for the winner. 500k total also makes more sense $$$ wise.

    Happy to be corrected.

    Probably best to leave it alone 'til next presser, which (hopefully) will confirm most of participants & other details = venue, local regulator etc.
