And Mosley has also been on the other side of things if I remember correctly. Margarito turned down a gigantic pay day against Paul Williams to take less money against Shane Mosley.
I disagree, If Willaims can make 47, then he belongs there, But Williams doesn't bring anything for Shane at this point of his career, certainly not a big pay day he's looking for. PWill needs to beat some top 10 guys at 47 to start demanding fight with the best.
Considering he was going to get 10 million (his highest purse by far) and after an extremely contreversial win (most felt DLH was robbed), I'd say his principles were pretty screwed up.
Williams needs to got to 147, fight Clottey or Berto to earn a shot a Mosley. PW needs to earn his shot.
Right, take on a huge risk and fight some freak of nature that nobody, outside of diehard boxing fans, even knows.:good You should become a manager!
Whether or not he was wrong or right he stuck with his priniples and have to respect him for that, even though it was a terrible business move. But, i'm not sure where you get most feel DLH was robbed, it was a close decision. I know "most" at ringside, practically all, had Mosley winning clearly.
Disagree all you want... Pwill who at 6'4 with the wingspan of a HW and continually fighting at 160 should not be fighting much smaller fighters at 147. How would you like Mosley to go down 2 weight classes to challenge Diaz, Casamayor, Marquez, etc???
If he could pull it off? Sure why not? Paul Williams is more of a 154 lber than anything else. He's said that one of the benefits of fighting at 160 is that he doesn't have to watch what he eats in an attempt to make weight.
