...And it was. I'm surprised Jim Watt could see the fight with his head so far up Goves' arse. Seriously, yes Groves was fantastic, particularly early on, but Froch was establishing a foothold in the fight from the mid rounds yet Watt acknowledged little to nothing of Froch's work.

God, the Sky team badly needs freshening up.

Surely I can't being the only one who noticed this?

He called it spot on though did he not? Groves was handing out a lesson

Watt was spot on - he was up Groves' arse cos Groves was taking him to school! He didn't acknowledge Froch's work cos it was shite and he fouled a lot.

just watching it back now, there was nothing wrong with his commentary, called it right giving Froch the 5th. His commentary was one sided because the fight was one sided.

Quite liked David Haye/Professor X as a pundit- they should invite him back for Joshua's fights.

Jim Watt is Jim Watt but I really miss Ian Darke on these big nights.

It was very poor but it always has been. Watts been a terrible commentator since forever. He doesn't understand what it requires. No insight or excitement ever added.

I also think that his card should pop up at the beginning of each round for accountability.

Jim watt and Sky team (except Woodhall) were all brilliant I thought. Called a spade a spade

People on this dwindling forum love having a go at Jim Watt. He called the fight in favour of a Groves as Groves was beating the **** out of Froch yet somehow he is biased?!!!

To say he brings no excitement is madness, I would rather listen to a screaming hyper Jim Watt than Larry Merchant.

    Exactly this.

You never hear McCrory or Woodhall say - "He's hurt!!!"

    No he wasnt. Misinformed much?
Watt stated numerous times that he was backing Froch to win, too much too soon type of idea.

As a commentator you can't call every single jab or punch landed, you end up just yammering all night, what regularly happened was as soon as Froch landed something Groves would pay him back with a cleaner, crisper and harder shot.
Watt only commented on what he and the rest of the world saw, thought he did a good job actually but I still really dislike that screeching voice of his.

Me too. Waited too long last night for BANG ON THE CHEN though. Should have screamed it when Froch got floored!

    "Right on the button"

I like Jim watt ... But then again I like the commentators with abit of passion for the sport there calling ... Tell he genuinely gets excited or pissed off about the fights he watches

What's the name of the creepy-looking guy with the dreadful haircut that used to present the big fights?
