I'm doing a little article for a website and I think you guys could give me some help. It's a about (preferably) active boxers who are still unbeaten but have questionable and padded records, because they have never fought outside their own country. Please don't throw in well known names as Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder, because that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for fighters like: William Fernando Souza Bezerra - Never fought outside Brazil and 38-0. Braimah Kamoko- Never heared of him, but he's 27-0 and never fought outside Ghana. And even Ali Raymi will do because he's the biggest cult-figure in boxing today.
Obscure and never having fought outside their country are 2 different things. Many US boxers never set foot outside their country and made the P4P top 3. But I get what you're saying. Lots of fighters from "unknown" boxing countries fight guys that are picked right out of some alley to get beaten up.
David Zegarra (29-0) Peruvian light middleweight who fought virtually nobody of note. All of his opponents so were unknown South American boxers with obscure or losing records, but Zegarra is somehow rated inside the top 10 by the WBC. He never fought outside Peru. Looks like he often takes part in some Peruvian reality TV shows.
Ali Raymi. He once KO'd the same opponent - the unfortunate Muhammed Muhammed- 4 times. All in the first round.
Well are you looking for some objective insight or maybe even some constructive criticism? I feel the "fighting outside your country" portion a bit inaccurate or at the very least not the best indicator of a padded record....this of course depends on the country.....nations such as the US, Great Britian, Mexico plenty of places in Eastern Europe have tons of talent and hard nosed fighters that can prove you've been brought up the hard way and not feed cab drivers.
Not so obscure in Japan but Tsuneo "Piston" Horiguchi has a hell of a record. He's not active however...
