Pretty interesting to watch..... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_AodLldatk&feature=related[/ame] The fights start about 7:30 minutes.... First Fight. -Luiz Augusto Alvarenga (6 time south american Full Contact Champion) vs Renzo Gracie. Just a couple of info, because the fight was a bit messy, lol. One of the rules were that if a fighter was with a part of his body outside the ring, the fight would start again in the middle of the ring..... Alvarenga lost a point later because he couldn´t kick the opponent when this opponent was in the ground....then the referee stopped the fight because it was clear that Alvarenga was simply running out of the ring Second Fight. - Ralph Gracie vs Geraldo Silva Pedra (Brazilian Kung Fu champion) (I wish you guys could understand the interviews post-fights LOL, pure gold...Geraldo said that all he remembered it was he landed three punches in Gracie´s head....said also that all the guys from Rio de Janeiro are on drugs and they should do an urine test in all of them because they all use drugs ) Third Fight - Marcelo Behring (from jiu-jitsu) vs José Carlos de Jesus (Full Contact.....actually they don´t talk about his credentials, but by the comments of the broadcast team he was a Boxer/Kickboxer I imagine) ----------- I don´t expect too many comments here, because I´m not sure if there is anything to discuss lol , just thought would be nice to share fellas..... it´s cool to see how things were when it all began.....:good
Theres something about the old Vale Tudo fight and early UFC ones. The sense of anticipation I dont think will ever come back again. I remember when Mario Sperry fought Zinoviev and lost because of a cut. It was a legendary win because Sperry was this unbeatable Zen Master of JJ.
That was an awesome watch. Thank you for posting. If I've seen it before I completely forgot about it. lol @ the second one. That was quick!
