This is my favourite style match up. Let's hear about some fights where a great bull has beaten down a great matador?

Chavez vs Taylor is a possibility, but Taylor was winning most of that fight though.

duran-leonard I is a bady example because leonard wasn't in matador mode. he decided to slug it out instead with duran.

Maybe duran took leonard out of his 'normal mode' because of that second round left hook, his trash talking and the savage relentless agression of montreal duran....
I recall leonard saying that punch shook him up and he didnt get on track until a few rounds after that...
note: duran was the 'smaller' bull as well....

These two are terrific examples, A53.

Another bout comes to mind -- more obscure, and neither fighter would be considered "great," but it certainly illustrates a determined bull finally overcoming a first class matador: Ben Tackie's tenth-round stoppage of Roberto Garcia, who was boxing beautifully, and raked Tackie with every combination imaginable from the opening bell. Fans were shouting to stop it, it was so one-sided, and Tackie was taking such a fearful beating.

Sugar Ray Robinson vs Joey Maixm. Not that Maxim was a bull, but he did out last Sugar Ray.
