When Sturm ducked AA, and denied there was ever an offer, Sauerland made his offer public almost immediately. On the current scene there are several big fights brewing, and we have many details of how negotiations are going. Please direct me to any information you might have that gives any details of Sauerland's offer to Pavlik. How much did Sauerland offer KP to fight in Germany? How much did they ask for to fight in Atlantic City? What was the purse split? How much did HBO, or any other network guarantee?
This one is hard to predict and I've to agree that Taylor has everything to win a UD, but on the other hand AA - my favorite fighter - has proven that he is a tough sob and can punch hard. He's still undefeated and although I respect the opinion of those who say that he only dealt with just average opponents (which is not true) this is something special. None of his opponents were able to win against him and he knocked most of them out. Nevertheless if Taylor has the right strategy and stays focussed I see him winning the fight, otherwise he gets knocked out. If Taylor gets hurt or tired, AA won't let him recuperate. AA knows that he can't play with such a world-class opponent.
I'd bet on Abraham. But I think Taylor actually will be one of the harder fights for Abraham, should Taylor use his very long reach and great jab. Taylor's jab used to be the best in boxing, I don't know when or why he threw it away. Abraham's toughest fight, however, I think is Kessler stylistically.
Taylor will do well for the first six rounds, Abraham will slowly build up momentum heading into the 11th round where a tired and mentally wasted Jermain Taylor will eat an uppercut or two that will deposit him on his backside. Taylor will get up and try to fight on but the referee will jump in and wave it off before Abraham can do any more damage, some will cry foul on the stoppage but it will be legit. Afterwards all of the Pavlik turned Taylor fans will once again question themselves as to why they supported Taylor AGAIN.
Jermain needs to just win the first 8 rounds (which I think we can agree he is capable of) and then run like hell and clinch the last 4 rounds, don't even attempt to win them, even if Ozell tells him to like he did before the last round of the Froch fight (god that pissed me off, worst advice ever given by a trainer).
Even if he does that, he leaves himself open to potentially losing a decision especially if this fight is in Germany (I think it's in Germany although I may be wrong). Taylor needs to fight 12 consistently tough rounds against Abraham and avoid touching canvas. Color me extremely unenthusiastic about his chances.
Jermain has all the tools to make this a very easy fight, except for one. He does not seem to be capable of fighting smart for 12 rounds. Almost everytime an opponent goes on the back foot, Abraham charges forward throwing wild ass haymakers. When he does that he drops his hands clear down by his waist to throw. Anytime Abraham is under pressure he retreats to the ropes or a corner and shells up. It would be very easy for a smart fighter to use those habits against AA. Apply pressure, retreat and counter, wash - rinse - repeat. In order for Jermain to win that way he'd have to keep his head on straight for 12 rounds. I would not bet on JT to do that.
