First will be the tape-delay showing of Peter vs. Vitali K, a heavyweight title bout that will offer big punching and guaranteed fireworks. The great thing with Peter lately is that he has hurt and been hurt. Then, probably the most compelling bout that can be made at 175 (excluding Calzaghe, who's on the way out), Tarver vs. Dawson. In effect, the winner will own two major belts and be the No. 1 guy in the division, if not the outright champion. Or you could drop $50 for Mosley/Mayorga. HBO is going to take massive beating on that deal.
The IBO is a major belt in your opinion? Alright it's probably at #5 of the ABC's - but I still consider it "the king of the minors" if you know what I mean
Mosley-Mayora should never been made for PPV. Granted, most fights shouldn't be PPVs but this one is a headslapper.
Christ! HBO is actually charging us for Mosley vs Mayorga!!!! why am I surprised. Like most mindless addicts I will probably dish out my hard earned cash to watch the fiasco, record the Peter bout then punish myself when the cable bill comes.
Oh, I agree. I was thinking of Dawson as the "spiritual" holder of the WBC belt, but that's complicated and I should have been more clear about that. The IBO is a minor leaguer all the way.
Doin' good man. Hope you are too. Gotcha on the unification deal. I should have clarified what I meant by that (as explained in the post before this one). I also hope Dawson and Johnson win to set up a big rematch. That would be a hot fight in 2009. And if it's Dawson/Diaconu, that would be OK as well. The worst case would be Tarver/Johnson. I don't care to see that rubber match. Hopefully, at least one of them loses.
Tape delay? That sucks. HBO would not show that fight on tape delay like Showtime is. What a bunch of crap.
