Morrison totally out of shape. He risked life in that bout.

Your right. He was not in good condition to box at the elite level. Morrison was pumped up on steroids/weights and was tight as a drum. He came out Smokin for 3 rounds. He gave it to Mercer. Alot Heavyweights would have visited the canvas at least once.
When he hit the wall, the wall hit him.

Morrison had a wicked blend of speed and power, shame about his dedication. The uppercut followed by the left hook was a thing of beauty

I remember watching that fight !! Mercer said something like that boys trying to kill me !! to his corner after a couple of rounds !! I really thought Morrison was in medical danger at the end .Mercer was one hard bast@ard in the right mood he was extremely dangerous.

Morrison had a wicked blend of steroids and peds which he admitted to, blaming them for his H.I.V. There fixed it for you.

Tyson, Holy, Mayweather, Mosley, jones Jnr, Hopkins, I could keep going all night, they all cheat, the only pure elite I think never cheated was the King of the 168lb'ers Joe Calzaghe !

Morrison was one of the most talented boxers Ive ever seen but he was able to show only a part of his incredible potential. Unfortunately at the end (as happened to other "cursed" brilliant fighters) his own demons have won on him. R.I.P.

That's about as good as Tommy got.

He just never had the goods. A sad fact many can't face.

Morrison was the Great White Dope, redux. A Jerry Quarry for the ages (actually, calling Morrison a Quarry is a compliment...look who Jerry stood up there with). Just as Quarry lucked out on Shavers, Morrison beat Foreman.

I saw through him from the beginning. I was in prison doing time for beating up some punk on the city bus when the Mercer-Morrison fight came up and all of the white guys in the block were screaming Tommy. I knew right from the get Mercer was going to murder him. He almost did. All the little pro-whites bummed out (I was the only white guy who guessed the outcome). I laughed, laughed, laughed. White boy or no, Morrison sucked.

Nothing personal or disrespectful to Tommy's fans meant whatsoever. I just hate white dopes (I'm allowed to say that btw).

Incredible job to get Morrison back to form after suffering such a brutal ko. Not too many heavies ever rebound from the brutal ko's. Morrison is one of the few that did

Terrible refereeing by the incompetent Tony Perez. Let Morrison take far too many damaging possibly life changing shots because he was too scared to jump in between the fighters. Weren’t really surprised personally because he had previous in another high pro fight 10 years before in 1981 when he was too scared of getting hit by the free swinging Gerry Cooney which result in Cooney teeing off against the helpless Kenny Norton who was trapped and almost unconscious near the corner against the ropes.

Any fight I saw Tony Perez referee he did a terrible job. It was all about him and not the fighters or the match. I never understood how he continued to get work.
