The story goes that he cried after the fight.

I just thought it was sad to see. I didn't think Louis really looked like winning it.

Would you say Louis did better against Marciano than Ali against Holmes and Holmes against Tyson which were 2 other high profile bouts that were seen as symbolising pasting the torch fights?

I think there was more to Louis at that time, he was still pretty able and having only lost 2 times in his career to ATG fighters and he avenged Max S, he was not the Joe Louis but Marciano was also one of his finest opponents.......

Ali was completely shot and the saddest part about it was that he lost the weight taking diet pills, I couldnt watch it.

Holmes was still an able fighter, his losses to Spinks going the full route and not damaging. I think Tyson would have mowed down the 80's fighters Holmes included and was better than anyone Holmes faced. Holmes was not at his best but that right hand of Tyson was the kryptonite that plagued Holmes always and Tyson had 2 hands with power and more power & speed than Snipes, more stamina and relentlessness than Shavers and much less shakey. A much better fighter than Weaver who was 18-9 when he faced Holmes

I guess you can say that Louis performed the best of all 3 of them. If Holmes did as well against Tyson as Louis did against Rocky, we'd never hear the end of it.
