    Please explain as i see no similarities.One is a ****en quitter who dictates who he wants to fight in a "tournament" and the other *** only like to fight in oakland while everyone else has to travel and fight in others backyards.Here he have andre ward getting back to back to back fights in oakland.Im ****en surprised he didnt fight froch in oakland.Im ****en surprised he didnt call out dirrel the way hes calling out sergio.Dirrel "Might" generate more money than a fight against sergio would.I said MIGHT.

    Which one do you think he would make more off of? Fighting the Super Six Champion or fighting someone that most boxing fans in the US have never heard of?

    Martinez is a small middleweight. He weighed in at what? 157? Why should he go up over 10 lbs to fight at Super Middleweight against a guy that will probably move to 175 at some point?

    Isn't Chavez Jr. pretty much the same size as Ward? Martinez is begging for the Chavez fight. Martinez is not going to fight Ward, and it's not just about size. It's about Ward not only having good size, but a style that would cause Martinez a lot of problems, and it's not as high profile of a fight as a Mayweather fight would be. Anyway, Dibella supposedly offered for Martinez to fight Floyd at 150 lbs. with an 80/20 split. If Floyd looks good against Cotto, and when he gets out of jail, he should take Martinez up on his 150 lb. offer and pay him a flat fee of $8-$10M.

    Dibella says Ward walks around 20 to 30 pounds higher than Martinez.

    But how much higher does Martinez walk around than Pacquiao? I here Pacquiao normally weighs about 140-145 pounds. Martinez fights at 160.

    Everyone on this board seems to be in love with Larry Merchant. Heres his take on the subject;

    “Look, like all professional sports, it’s business as well as a sport. So it’s perfectly understandable that he wants to fight the biggest names that generate the biggest bucks. But he’s not on their short list of opponents. As far as I’m concerned, he’s as good as he thinks and everybody else thinks. I’d love to see him fight a [Andre] Ward or [Lucian] Bute. I’d like to see him step up. He wants those guys to step up to him? He should step up to them. He’s willing to fight Chavez. Well, Chavez looks as big or bigger than those super middleweights these days. He came into the ring weighing 181 last time. Every fighter within ten or more pounds of [Manny] Pacquiao or Mayweather are looking for a way to get into the ring with them. Because that’s where the money is. What’s the old question where they ask Willie Sutton why does he rob banks? ‘Because that’s where the money is’”

    Wow. Martinez is getting all sorts of hate, Chavez Sr. flips out cause Martinez wants the belt back that he paid to have put on his ***** son. Then you have Void (as always) making himself look like a ***** by refusing to fight Sergio when he was the #1 guy there, but he's fightng the WBA super champ there. Now his fans (along with Pac's and other random bitches) give him **** about wanting to come back down to 154 to land a big payday?

    He and PWill had the same plight. They were seen as high risk / low reward for either Pac or Void, so each guy had to fight and prove themselves at 154 / 160 to attempt to lure one of them into a superfight. Martinez did what Williams couldn't by getting supremacy at 154 and 160 having to go through PWill twice, Pavlik for the title, Dzinziruk, Barker, now Macklin and he hasn't earned a big fight? Hell, he gets **** on for not wanting to screw his chances by fighting someone at a catchweight (something Pac gets crucified for, and Void can't even morally do) or a weight class he probably won't be effective at?

    Wow.

    I'm guessing somewhere between the MW and SMW limit. His fight against Pavlik he weighed 167 after rehydrating, but looks to be eating to stay at MW. He weighed no more than 158 for each of his MW fights, the Macklin fight was no different, think he was 158 at the weighin and 165 in the ring. Probably walks around at that as I doubt he needs to really cut to make MW.

    I have no problem with Martinez doing what he's doing. However, he can't call out WWs, call out guys like Chavez who is as big as a LHW, and then say he's too small for a guy like Andre Ward and not expect to get criticized for it. Martinez is just like any other fighter. He's looking for the most bang for his buck, not to necessarily fight the best out there.
