:huh Most of the "classic" boxers Kellerman references for analogical purposes were from the 70s and 80s. Are names like Shavers and Whitaker not in your frame of reference?

It's not like he's Bert Sugar or something.

 

Even Burt Sugar references guys before his time like Jack Dempsey.

To be fair though he does reference a lot of the old timers. But more and more often it seems to me like it has been Jim that has been busting out the old school knowledge.

 

Well that was kind of my point - most of Max's namedropping is guys that were at least active when he was a kid (or not too long before).

Yeah, Bert will unabashedly reach back to the cradle days of the Queensberry rules.

Atlas is bad too - he loves him some "Henry Awmstwong". It's like, dude, he last fought a decade before you were a twinkle in Theo Sr's balls.

 

Kellerman thinks his pretension and pedantic bull**** makes him look smarter than he is.
