By the way, augustus, Alexeev is Solis' old amateur rival. Solis won a razor thin point decision against Alexeev in the final of the world amateur championchip. That fight could have really gone either way. Alexeev 's firepower is murderous. He was one of the most feared amateur bangers of all weight divisions a few years ago.He stopped olympic medalist Zuev by brutal ko. Zuev is one of the hot favourites to win gold at the upcomming olympic tournament in China. And Zuev was the one who knocked American Devin Vargas down and kicked him out of the last olympic tournament. Alexeev will soon take over the cruiser weight division in the paid ranks. And who knows? He may move up to heavy weight so that Solis vs Alexeev at the pros could come off once again.
Thanks for the info! Solis has been matched quite toughly up to now.I very much hope that he will get a known name with some name recognition in front of his fists when fighting for the first time in his pro career on American soil!
Thanks for the info. It's positive (he stays active, might lose some weight) and negative (probably low caliber opponents, getting used to fighting bums). Maybe it's better if he just loses the extra weight, fight a little less but when he fights some better opposition. Once every 4 weeks will do. I.E.: quality instead of quantity think )
Btw, I got info trough a German boxing forum that Erislandy Lara flew from Cuba and will be fighting under the arena banner in a short...
