I wasn't a big fan of Johnson at first but he really impressed me in his last fight with Vargas. He showed some power and skills in that fight. Solis has never faced a live opponent, all of his fights to this point have been setups.

    Johnson tko9 Solis

Is this really scheduled for 12 rounds?

Solis better get into shape because he hasn't faced anyone in the pros near the level of Johnson. I always like to watch these guys who throw 5, 6, 7 punch combos against tomato cans and see what happens when they get to the third punch against a legitimate opponent.

Sometimes they end up out cold.

I lean towards Johnson by a UD or late stoppage.

Diamond Dave, Solis is no "Vargas" and even Vargas managed to be hitting Johnson at will for the first 3 rounds. Solis will find his face constantly as Johnson is very easy to hit as is very slow! Sure, he can hit but all heavies can hit if given the opportunity, but Solis has a tremendous tight defence keeping his face tighly covered with his arms and does'nt waste time, he is an incredibly sharp counterpuncher and when he connects you well is all over. Solis is Olympic Champion and many times World Champion, something that Johnson can only dream of. Johnson may be tough but being tough does'nt win many fights, maybe it worked against Vargas but against tough Solis is a whole different ballgame. NO WAY JOHNSON BEATS SOLIS, SOLIS WILL TKO HIM OR KO HIM, JUST WATCH. :nono

i dont know why so many people are making such a big deal about johnson beating vargas, man varghas isnt that good in this stage of his career and believe me he wont ko solis johnson ko rate isnt that great and solis actyually has a pretty good chin, the only way it stops by tko is if solis runs out of gas and just sits on the canvas to take a break

I will put the facts on the table now. Solis has excellent boxing skills, has incredible amateur career and has a rock hard chin that even the great Felix Savon who KO'ed almost every American prospect thrown at him coul'nt KO Solis in THREE FIGHTS. Solis is way superior than Johnson and Johnson is actually not as good as people think he is. This is the hardest fight for both but no doubt that Solis will come out on top! :goodCan't wait.

Johnson will not KO Solis, Johnson completely lacks the power and killer attitude, but he can completely outbox a Solis who has become lethargic and one dimensional.

I'm surprised either of these guys agreed to fight one another.
    Could be an entertaining fight.

Haye should take notes....Chambers outshined him through actually fighting and not talking...something tells me the winner of this one will do the same!

These guy's will show what they can do...Haye will tell you what he can do!

Like him or not,but give honour where honour is due, marting!

Solis has been matched fairly toughly for a heavy weight. For God's sake! He fought Mazikin in his second pro fight.
Mazikin is better than Johnson's last opponent Vargas who got his ass kicked big time by my compatriot Zuev at the olympics.Cant even remember anymore how many times Zuev knocked Vargas down then!
Mazikin is better than Vargas, and Solis beat him in his second pro fight. Solis fought Cisse Salif in his 6th or 7th pro fight.
And lets not forget that Solis knocked Sidon out in his pro debut, the same Sidon who had a memorable fight with Valuev in the Czech Republic's capital Prague a couple of years ago.Probably the weirdest heavy weight I ve ever seen.

Yes,all in all Johnson's fight record is better than Solis' one,but the Cuban doesnt have a padded record either.

I don't have a word of complaint about Solis' resume. For a relative newcomer to the pros he's fought decent opposition. But so has Johnson, who by the way fought Timor Ibragimov in only his 4th pro fight.

That said, I still say Johnson is a big step up and I applaud Solis for taking his chances.

I'm very careful of placing too much stock in amateur experience. Its good to have but a fighter still has to make a transition to a very different style of fighting to succeed at the pro level.

Solis has looked good at times and at times no so spectacular. I could say the same for Johnson but I think Johnson has been taken deeper and faced far more difficult situations at the pro level.

I know what Johnson is all about. Solis? I'm not sure. My instincts say he's got talent but I worry when I see all that flab. This is a 12 rounder I believe and Johnson has gone 10 several times. Solis has faded in some of his fights when he got taken to the final bell.

I lean towards Johnson but I wouldn't bet the house on him.
