It sucks, but this is pretty much the biggest event of the week.

I mean, there is Fury vs. Hammer - which probably does produce a winner closer to world title contention - but this one is more competitive on paper. (it was a split decision last time - and the other HW match-up does feature a 7" height difference, twice as much as in this...)

This is for a minor green bauble. Solis is rated #15 by the WBC and Thompson #14, so neither is exactly within reach of a shot at champ Deontay Wilder. Every little bit helps though, and both are coming off losses and in stages of their careers where they can't afford to pick up another.

I'm more pumped about Eubank Chudinov.

I've picked Tony The Tiger but he'll probably be robbed.

Different card, that one's Saturday, co-feature to Fury vs. Hammer; if they were the same day and conflicting I'd honestly skip the one in Turkey. :think

Solis vs. Thompson 1 wasn't exactly a 2014 FOTY candidate.

How do you fancy their chances against Wilder, IB? :think

    Wow.

I mean, either touching his mandible and causing it to crumble like a clod of dirt wouldn't surprise me.

...but Thompson is so old, and Solis is so fat.

I could see Wilder, if he pulled another Stiverne like performance, actually outpointing either behind a long pot shot jab.

Probably not stopping either, though...but then again, Thompson never had the sharpest reflexes and is ever slower...it took Doc Steel Hammer to stop him (twice) but he could be old enough for a lesser fighter to be able to do it now. :think Wasn't he buzzed a few times by Takam?

I know, I was referring to your statement about the biggest event of the week. Which I'd say is the Fury Hammer card.

Yeah, bigger implications, but more of a mismatch which is what brought that one down a notch for me.

Chudinov vs. Eubank Jr. is more exciting than either of the HW matches but I'm not sure either is on the doorstep of a MW title shot...or even the front lawn.

I agree actually... I mean I would like to think a gift title shot would finally motivate Solis enough to show up in respectable shape, but based on his track record it's unlikely.. Talent wise, and experience wise he's light years ahead of Wilder, so even fat and unmotivated he might just catch him with something... Really not a fight i'd bet on at this point, neither result would shock me. I'd back Thompson more against Wilder than I would Solis, I know the opportunity would motivate him and he'd show up the best he could, and give it a go.... Could see him losing the first few rounds, and catching Wilder with something similar to the first Price fight. He's definitely crafty enough to capitalize on Wilders flaws, an frequent mistakes.

You know me, I don't care about any of that(I actually do), all I care about is brutality. And I'm pretty sure Eubank Chudinov will deliver.:hey

As far as Fury Hammer goes.... ehhh.

Solis stops him if he lands that right hook flush

I expect it to be as much of a ferocious war as the first "fight" but with a different winner this time out.
    Solis by SD. Probably controversial.

TTT seems to be in very good shape. He schools that fat pig and eventually knocks him out.
