I had big hopes for this clown. Another fat piece of **** wasting his talents. It makes me sick to see a heavyweight that could potentially be a credible world champion and bring some credibility to the shitty division walking around like a fat bouncer. He's got an excellent skill set and a good chin and he's ****ing the dog by following the James Toney diet. If Ahmet Oner had any sense at all and truly wanted a heavyweight champion he'd hire a boot camp type conditioning coach that won't take bull**** and would force fatty Solis to get down to around 220 or lower. Oners just as much of a ****** as Solis is for this weight problem.

Solis is overhyped and his Chin has yet to be tested. He is a fat slob.

Solis in their first 3 fights was over hyped as heaven but now he is a joke a nobody can take them seriously, Gamboa is becoming a better prospect and Solis is going to the abyss. He will be a good gatekeeper.

    Yawn.

I don't think there are too many concerns about Solis' chin. It was tested plenty in the amateurs against huge punchers. If his chin was glass, he would have had issues then, a la Khan and Haye.

This is boxing, not bodybuilding. As long as he can get in good enough shape to have proper endurance, he should be fine. I'm disappointed that he's been relatively inactive lately, but it's not his fault the Botha fight fell through. If they get him back on track, and he stays in good enough shape to go full throttle for 12 rounds, he should be fine. He's still more talented than 99% of the heavyweights out there right now.

    Good post,brickhaus! Well spoken!

Solis has been matched pretty toughly up to now. Hell, fighters like Hollyfield,Thyson,or Bowe only faced soft opposition in the first 10 fights.
Solis gets the job done.He hasnt lost a single fight so far.
He beat an capable olympian in his second pro fight who had shown some decent performances before he faced Solis.
Solis is for real. Like a lot of Cuban fighters he has some problems with discipline.I very much hope that he wont take a leaf out of his Cuban compatriot Juan Carlos Gomez's book wasting his career with long absences from the ring due to a lack of dedication to our beloved sport.

Solis has been matched tough so far.

He seems to have the skill to make some noise.

And it is far too early to write him off.

But being a fat ass is usually not a good career move for a boxer.

He needs to do something about that when/if he faces top 10 fighters.

If I have ever seen a fixed fight it was Solis vs Mazikin! Solis's promoter is a proven cheater, ringing the bell himslef early to save a fighter from being Ko'd. Mazikin you are not a good actor.

I am not sure Solis is the big puncher people claimed.

Solis knocked out David Haye with headgear on, much larger gloves and in a 4 round fight. But that doesn't prove anything about his power. Haye could be wearing a helmet like Katsidis had and get Ko'd by a Heavyweight puncher

Amatuer Boxing is not a good way to test a fighters Chin.

Several fighters that had Glass Jaws were never even knocked down in the Amatuers.

Name me a single heavyweight that was true for. Yes, at the lower levels, where the gloves are as big as the fighters, that's the case. A heavyweight punch will still hurt a guy, even with headgear. I can't think of a heavyweight fighter with a glass chin who was a prominent amateur who didn't have some chin questions coming into his professional career.

No ****, moron. Thats why a lot of boxers look in lean muscular shape and not huge and bulky like bodybuilders.

Audley Harrison won an Olympic Gold Medal. And he does not have a good chin. That is why Audley fights so timid and cautious in the ring, he is afraid of getting hit.

Solis' fight starts in a few minutes.

Lara and Kretschmann looked good on the undercard.
